hi,

you have to register in digitalgraal's website. The version 1.0 Preview should be released around today, maximum tomorrow.
In the meanwhile if you want you can download the RC 05 C, that have almost the same features.

The registering system used in the site, is sometimes failing, and i have not been able to fix the problem, so if you have anyproblem send me an email at [email protected]

Upgrade

Post by danyblue »

Hi Zparta,

the upgrade functions in CM2F are very easy. You just have unpack the new version and run the upgrade function and without any other problem, the site would be migrated to the new version.
So i think that you can perfectly start with the current version and upgrade tomorrow without any problem at all.

Most of the time that i have spent in the the last months, and which delayed the version 1 launch, was precisely to have a version fully stable and fully managable, flexible and easy to manage:).
I think that i still have some work to do on the bit "easy to manage" but in the last months CM2F is very powerfull and the relation Powerfull-Flexibility-easy has reached a very good trade-off.

Do I need a chron to use this? I just installed M2F only finding out about this chron stuff. I don't think I can run a chron on my free server at 123freehosting.com.

No

Hi,

no you don't need cron. For the users that have no access to crontab, CM2F includes a virtual cron function that runs a virtual cron function that gets the messages processed on a scheduled based.

Hm I tried to sign up at your site but it never sent my registration email and on top of that I decided to have it send me a second email by using I forgot my password.

In both cases I have received no password and have no way to log into the site

Forum2Forum Being tested and other features

Post by danyblue »

Hello All,

since the release of the CM2F Groups 1.0 preview has taken place, and no bugs are being reported, i am taking some time to hunt for new features to make CM2F a better mod.

After the request of an user, i have been able to map a new functionality that allows a Forum2Forum communication.

Basically CM2F act as the bridge between the forums that are to be linked, and using InputStreams, MailStreams and F2MStreams, and using only one mailbox per board, the system is able to link any number forum in any number of boards together.

I am also now taking a new approach to integrate CM2F with other Forums softwares like Vbulleting and Xoops NewBB.

After a couple of requests i am also looking into the possible integration with MediaWiki allowing the system to brigde aswell forums and wikis.

no I have not been able to login still. I also never got your email. Are you sure your mx entries are correct for your mailserver. This does happen to me sometimes but not very often.

At any rate I'm still interested.

Gmail and RSS Support

Post by danyblue »

Hi,

i am finally activating Gmail support as an inputStream for CM2F.

The system is now able to log into Gmail, fetch messages and import them into the system.

Due to the features that GMail have: Huge Space, Conversations, labels, etc ... I would like to share the fine tuning of the solution with the users, in order to have the systeme working as expected.

For this discussion i have open a thread back at Digitalgraal http://www.digitalgraal.dynalias.net/in ... opic&t=308.

The other question that i would like to address is about how to distribute the version with Gmail enabled, to implement this feature, some extra libraries are required, from the investigation that i have done, it seems that most of them are included in the standard php distributions.
Should i take this as a permise, or should i include the different libraries with the release?

The next big point is RSS which also running correctly from an integration point of view, and which i am now looking at the syndication, in order to define a way that two Forums could be synced up by CM2F.
Any thought about specifities would be also welcomed.

Any thought about this will be welcomed.
