Thread/Topic clean up

A server with a large database had a slight goof, and the database had to be restored from a certain point. Long story short, there are some topics listed on the index that you click, and don't exist. There are some topics that exist that say they have 2 pages, that only have 1. I'm looking for a mod/tool that will help clean this up (similar to vBulletin) so that it only displays the topics that really exist with their correct count.

Start with the resync option in the ACP

Resync doesn't do anything but refresh the page, sadly. I tried that right away.

Weird. Did you check? You don't get to see a "success" page or anything, the function simply works and reloads the forum overview. But post counts etc. should have been corrected.
Read includes/functions_admin.php function sync to figure out what it does.

Yes, I've resynced and checked, and to no avail. There are still certain posts that note having 5 pages, when they only have 4, for example. Basically, there was a week of posts that the server lost. The thread/forum indexes act as if they have those posts when they don't.

One thing of notice, it seems the stickies are the ones that aren't being resynced.

Note that this is a MOD Requests forum for phpBB, L0cke. What StefanL (and I) are saying about your using vBulletin is just based on your forum linked to in your signature. If that's the forum you're actually using, I'll lock this topic as you're really not using phpBB.

I was trying to help the administrator there, as I was an old "phpBB guru" of sorts before I switched over to vBulletin. Not really sure why the resync function isn't doing its job in this case, as that is what it was designed for. Perhaps the resync function overlooks dead sticky threads.
