Something wrong with firefox?

Post by thestar » Tue Jul 12, 2005 10:25 pm

I have the style called softblue installed on my board and I am new to the phpbb world but have really got into it and have been making mods to my boards and so forth. After one of my mod installations I noticed that the border was suddenly missing on my forum. I looked through all the altered code and could not see anything that had been changed that would affect it.

So, to make a long story short I went back to view the orginal demo and noticed that the border was missing there as well but it only happens in fire fox in IE it looks fine. So, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix it?

The url to the orginal style is.. http://www.phpbbdesigns.com/index.php?n ... &style=131

Yes, I am having the same issue. While I downloaded V2 and installed it, I like version 1 better.

Is there a way to take the version 2 Firefox fix and put it into version 1?

I have just customized V1 and installed so many mods, I really don't want to have to go back and do it all again.

you can solved that by putting another table to control the content expanding to the rightside inside the layoutline.

to achieve this..
to the most bottom of your overall_header.tpl
add this:

Code: Select all

<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2">
      <tr>
        <td>
and to the most top of your overall_footer.tpl

Code: Select all

</td>
      </tr>
    </table>
you can play with cellpadding value.
I am positive this will work fine in FF.

Didn't work at all. Perhaps you could be more specific of where to add those lines. I added them to the top and bottom of each file but it didn't change anything.

Thanks for the try though.

This is a very nice theme and decided to use it, however I'm experiencing the same problem in Firefox as the rest. Is there a fix for this, I tried the fix above but that didn't work.

The desinger has come up with a Version 2 theme that fixes the problem but I do not like that theme as well. Apparantly the designer is AWOL, I've tried posts, IMs, and emails but with no response.

Actually I re-tried the fix posted above and it actually does work...sort of.

If you play around with the cellpadding (I changed it from 2 to 10) it fixes most of the problem however the header portion with the logo, etc still stretches.

Where is version 2 of this template so that I can compare?

Its a common issue with that template........
Jim_UK wrote: A common problem with SoftBlue is losing the right hand border
open SoftBlue.css and find
/* This is the outline surrounding the main blocks */
.forumlinemain { background-color: #97B9DA; border: 1px #585889 solid; padding: 4px; width: 100%; margin-bottom: 2px; }

Change to
/* This is the outline surrounding the main blocks */
.forumlinemain { background-color: #97B9DA; border: 1px #585889 solid; padding: 3px; width: 99%; margin-bottom: 2px; }

A better solution would be to change the css like above, but add another line so that it doesn't change in IE. So, make the change above:

Code: Select all

/* This is the outline surrounding the main blocks */
.forumlinemain { background-color: #97B9DA; border: 1px #585889 solid; padding: 3px; width: 99%; margin-bottom: 2px; }
but after it change it back to the original for IE:

Code: Select all

* html .forumlinemain { background-color: #97B9DA; border: 1px #585889 solid; padding: 4px; width: 100%; margin-bottom: 2px; }
