hehe, pleased to see all of this is creating a bit of debate here ;)

You like msn, well I do too : http://search.msn.fr/results.aspx?q=php ... H&cp=65001 ;)

Many parameters are to be taken care of while trying to get well indexed. And getting indexed is just the begining of showing up in good positions in search engines.

Here is another example : http://www.google.fr/search?hl=fr&q=stu ... cher&meta=

This is second out of 22 500 000 results on google, not that bad for a site that's not even finished yet ;)

http://www.google.fr/search?hl=fr&q=ele ... cher&meta=

So, yes this mod is helping, but not for the whole job to get you there, many things are playing a role, and the role of this mod is to facilitate google bots work (and thus many others search engines such as aol etc ... using google) and any other bot that will discover it (a link is good to do so).

As I previously explained, this mod will optimise usefullness of each bot visit, since they'll be able to find (and see what's updated) up to 50 000 url in one shot, what could possibly be more efficient ?
Usually major bots comes 4 or 5 times a day on my board, so it's a lot more efficient if all of those visit leads to a page being either cached or updated (we waist very few url listing here, after one shots per forum, search engines knows all).

My experience with this system is that you really end up being indexed faster and better, now, as said too, many other things are to be done in order to actually see all this leading to more visitors on our sites.

http://www.google.fr/search?hl=fr&q=sit ... cher&meta=

http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=si ... rch_type=0

http://fr.search.yahoo.com/search?p=sit ... meta=vl%3D

No need to say I'll soon be talking more precisely about all this ...

Soory for double posting, but rockboyteek, you should really consider this :

number 23... would that be right to do.. static URLs?.. and how long will it take for google to pull the topic pages?

Static url is easyer to handle, title injected (dynamic) is a bit more tricky since you must then observe a stric title policy (bad titles can lead to bad keywords associated with topics).

able2know's mod is good for indexing for sure. Bots will spider your pages easyer and page rank (PR) will be a lot better transmitted throughout your pages.
And you don't actually risk to geopardise any previous indexing while changing urls : http://www.google.fr/search?hl=fr&q=sit ... cher&meta=

Talking about time, well since you have a PR of 4, it should be quite fast.
I recommand though that you change your links to the forum to be http://www.etcworld.co.uk/etcforum/index.php instead of http://www.etcworld.co.uk/etcforum which leads to the portal and cause useless redirections (disturbing for bots too).
You should have one separate link to your portal and to your forum on each of your site pages.

Once all of this will be done, I'd say you'll start to see your page appear in google's cache in about a month or so, and for PR transmition, who knows, there are about 4 google dance per year so, it can take up to 4 month.

Anyway since I have got a good example of the able2know, I'll soon add a contrib for it in the release.

It's normal that google take more time, it rather a manner to filter site for them, not to be too quick in indexing.

I'll tell you one more time though to change the link your are actually using to you forum.

All right, then you should do this for all links in your site I think, like here : http://www.etcworld.co.uk/world/ where you still have the old synthaxe.
Also, as I advised you, you should consider using "forum" for forum, thus adding a portal link ;)

This is not like a hard task to well format links, but, in the end, it does make a real difference, and since you already have some PR, it will be faster and better transmitted this way.

Nether mind, this was just the code from your site you are using to point to your forum, it's your site, not mine, you should know this.

Don't you understand what I advised you so far ?

Anyway, you decide here, I won't bother you with this any more.
