I locked my forum but I can still post messages in it

I am in the testing phases of my bulletin board. I locked one of my forums but when I press the LOCKED icon on top of the TOPIC PAGE, it takes me to Post a new topic page. I fill it out to see if it will post and it does post. Could someone please tell me how to correct this problem. Thanks.

Are you logged as Administrator or does the account you are using to test have admin permissions?

Test is as guest for example, you will see that it's not possible to reply a msg or start a new topic if your forum is locked.

Are you logged in as an admin or moderator at the time? Because admins and moderators can still post in locked forums (or topics). if you log out or try a test account as a normal reigstered user then you'll find that the forum is locked

Thank so much for your replies, I was logged in as administrator and that is why I could post. I did not think of this before and now feel stupid for having asked for help. Thanks again for the help.
