Great mod! One of the best I have seen.
I am having an issue though. Am a newbie to modding forums, and have been doing them all manually. This one works great for me, but I can't seem to get around the too short input field for the link title though. I am using an image, and it won't take the full link.
Now I have read all 11 pages over and over, and they keep mentioning changing the templates/xxxxr/admin/board_config_body.tpl file, but in my latest version I installed, those lines appear nowhere?
I have gone through my install instructions, and I also can't find those lines mentioned anywhere. They are just not in the board_config_body file.
Where do I find these lines to change? The old upgrade insructions delete them, and I can't see anywhere in the full updated install where they would be inserted?
Really confused here. Appreciate any help.

the new file to edit would be "templates\subSilver\admin\admin_redbar.tpl"
I'll make sure and tidy up the 1st post as soon as I can ;)

Thanks Cherokee. Am giving that a try. Just change all the 160's to 255's?
When I did that...all my used text boxes are still smaller than the unused rest and have " size="45" maxlength="255" /> after them?
I am using the fomat <img src ="http://www.xxx.com"> in the text boxes. Must I have a / or some closing switch in there somewhere or something else?

The other issue is over the link text colours. You write to change genmed to whatever colour we want. For those of us who don't know .css and .tpl files..what format to we use for that. No clue how to change the .css file to make a new class. Any examples to try?
Want just black text, but no matter if I change the word "genmed" to "black" or "00000" or anything else..I either get transparent text or horrible grey text.
Any help much appraciated, and sorry to trouble you with this.
Your work really is apprciated.

Super MOD!

Ok first - I admit, I am a total newbie at this, but I installed rEdbar to my forum and works great. :D :D :D

I don't have direct shell access, only database through phpmyadmin, but was able to install using easymod, then running the db_update.php from the explorer bar to get it active.

Now my question.(remember I am a newbie at this) I want to copy just the bar (not the other header parts of the forum) to other parts of my site. What is the "relative" path from root directory that I should use? I searched using FTP but could not pinpoint it.

meaning - www.mysite.com/phpBB2/?????????????????

Thanks.

Oh - to add to my previous post.

I am specifically trying to add the rEdbar to my "coppermine" gallery header, then later to other site pages. (It matches subSilver forum). Coppermine has a config in ACP for "relative" path of header, but says it must be from root directory.

I don't want to get rid of the coppermine header, just add the bar the way it was added to phpBB2.

Forgive me if this does not belong in this specific thread.

Glock - have a look at this post. I believe this may solve the issue with using HTML in the Nav-Name boxes.
I have't tested it and I don't know what (if any) security implications this may have - can anyone confirm?

Ok, the reason that typing black in place of genmed doesn't work, is that genmed is a span class and not a font color.
The span class is defined in either your overall_header.tpl file or YOUR_THEME_NAME.css
Have a look in either file and see how a class is made up (it's really simple :)). All you need to do really is copy what's there and change the colors and text sizes to suit - and give the class a new name like gennew for example.
Here's a few simple tutorials (use google to find some more ;))
http://www.tizag.com/cssT/class.php
http://www.tizag.com/cssT/pclass.php
Hope this is ok - just post back if you still need help :)

I've not yet written anything up to allow the rEdbar to be used outside phpBB - mainly because I don't use anything else
I'll certainly have a look, but it won't be straight away.
If you manage to find anything before me, please post back

Making progress..and learning a lot about .css :D
Still have a couple of issues here..and if you don't mind, will plague you until I get kicked off the board..lol.

Firstly, using just plain text, I have been able to make a new class (genlink) but I think this line of text is overriding my colors?
a:link,a:active,a:visited { color : #2AAAA8; }

No matter where i put a new color for genlink..it defaults back to the default for a link, I think (just my theory)

I now have them changing to black on hover..but the default colour is still this grey? colour.

I would give the html code in your link a try..but he says to change it in admin/admin_board.php and I don't think that is whese those lines of code are in? What is the correct file to replace the text in?

Phew..hope some here are getting some answers to my questions..I can't be the only one. :D

G26

Edited to add: I am an idiot :D Problem solved.
I had changed the links to white already...but didn't realise that I had been testing them so often...that they were VISITED links now..and I still had to change that. These classes are starting to make more sense now. Thanks for the help.

To be honest, I can't really remember lol :D
I think it's a MOD combined with a bit of customised code.
I'll have a dig through my index.php file and see If i can pull the code out for you ;)

killyouall
The table and table data already has the align="center" attib added, so it should center automatically :?
Can you give me a screenshot or link to your forum?
