When did phpBB v3.0 Beta 4 come out?

Hello everyone that reads this:

I am wondering when beta 4 came out, i looked i saw 3 and then today around 2:30 AM i saw 4 and i saw like "whoa they came out with beta 4!, MUST DOWNLOAD and looky here they have an updater as well!" so i think they have dates when they were available and well im to lazy to check

but i will check if i have to

There are no set dates for any releases.

The system tab in the ACP on your phpBB 3 install will notify you when there is a new version, how to upgrade and provide a link to the announcement thread about it though.

I have a question :

I need a new forum my website cause my phpbb 2.10.0 is out of date.
I can't upgrade it (too long jog).
I am waiting for the phpbb 3.0 so I am wondering when it will be released? (thank to the developpers) .

I saw that Beta 3 was released 3 months after the Beta2 and the Beta 4 a couple of weeks after Beta 3 . So it's look like Beta are released more and more often.

Should I wait PHPBB 3.0 final (when approximatively) or install the last Beta cause my communauty is asking for a new forum.

Firstly you should really upgrade your forum to the latest version of phpBB2. Not doing so exposes both your site content and indeed your whole server to security risks.

Secondly, as has been posted many times, no release date for the final phpBB 3 has been or ever will be provided. It will arrive when it arrives.

If you took the trouble to read the posts in this forum you would know that there are no release dates and phpbb3 will go gold when it is ready and not one day before that. You will just have to be like the rest of us and be patient!

I am aware of that but just any idea? You know the PHPBB history , right?
It was a big forum 2 years ago but since , it has fallen so I don't really care about security.
I haven't got a lot of time to take care of it (studies) , to install patches for avoiding robots to post...

I just want to install a new one and start from 0.
So I think I'll install the beta 3 cause there are upgrades tools to update it beta after beta until the final release.

There are NO upgrade tools from one beta to another.

The only upgrade we know that will be available is phpBB2 to RC1.

Outside of that I wouldn't rely on them being available.

No - you will be able to upgrade your 2.0.21 version but without any mods other than the attachment mod.

There may be the possibility that the Developers might provide upgrade paths for other mods, although as it stands at the moment and looking increasingly like it might stay this way, the only mod which will be upgradeable is the attachment mod.
