Demote a moderator?

Post by amagab »

I need some advice. I have a moderator that most of my members dislike. It's not that he hasn't done his job as a moderator.....it's his attitude and "police"-behavior....he actually does more than is needed.

What is the best way to let go of a moderator, or to demote a moderator? ....without creating a mess?

Thanks!

Why don't you first try frowarding him some of the complaints and see if he moderates (hehehe) his behavior?

Next step would be to tell him that if he does not moderate his behavior in response to the complaints, you will have to remove his moderator status.

Why not say that you think he does ok but with a few occasions where a better choice of words would be good but in the interests of the board as a whole you're going to demote him for a couple of months and if you see fit you'll promote him again at a later date.
