Your SQL modifications to the database didn't take during install.

Re-do the SQL steps manually. (Can't imagine how EasyMOD would have dropped it but oh well.)

Probably a manual install was done and the SQL instruction was completely forgotten about.

Code: Select all

#
#-----[ SQL ]------------------------------------------
#
ALTER TABLE phpbb_forums ADD forum_parent INT NOT NULL DEFAULT '0';

.cfg editing

Post by Crazy-S »

I am trying to install this mod...

I am having trouble finding a program so that I can edit the templates/subSilver/subSilver.cfg file...

Nothing I have will recognize this file so I can edit it, any help on a program out there to edit this file would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks

subSilver.cfg is just a text file. Use Wordpad if Notepad doesn't work.

Well I figured out how to edit the .cfg file.... :)
All is working fine, except I cannot see the last box where it says who made last post and at what time and date...
It shows up in the sub forums, but not on the main page ???
I am pretty sure it is in the index.php file somewhere, but I cannot locate it...

Other than that I think this is a great MOD,,, CONGRATS !!!!!!!!

Hope I can post a link to show everyone what I mean, about the last post by "" segment... http://crazy-software.com/community/index.php

You can find my board at:
http://www.coloradoswingdance.org/phpBB ... /index.php
if that is of any help.

Thanks.

I ended up re-installing my entire phpBB installation from scratch, which is okay because I am still just playing and trying to figure things out. I decided to use EasyMod to install things this time (instead of by hand), and everything is up and running.

Except ...
When I click on a forum name, it takes me to a page that then lists every single forum not just the subforums. The only file I editted is overall_header.tpl in order to change the logo, so I assume there is some configuration I am overlooking but nothing looks obvious to me.

Help?

You inadvertenly delete this line of code

Code: Select all

<td class="row2" align="center" valign="middle" height="50" nowrap="nowrap"> <span class="gensmall">{catrow.forumrow.LAST_POST}</span></td>

Something in viewforum.php is not right. Recheck your edits.

Check templates/{YOUR_TEMPLATE-NAME}/index_body.tpl for this line

Code: Select all

<td class="row1" width="100%" height="50"><span class="forumlink"> <a href="{catrow.forumrow.U_VIEWFORUM}" class="forumlink">{catrow.forumrow.FORUM_NAME}</a><br />
	  </span> <span class="genmed">{catrow.forumrow.FORUM_DESC}<br />

Since that is an abandoned MOD you might want to uninstall it before installing the SS MOD.

From the description and screen shots over in the Pseudo thread it looks very much like these two MODs are very similar in function.

I don't think that two MODs that compete for functionality would co-exist peacefully. Certainly the install instructions would fail.
