phpBB 3.0.B5 Update package has download links but i cant any download that works.
Isnt it rdy yet ?

are you sure its the phpBB 3.0.B5 Update package (from 2.x -> 3.x) you have tryed.
all other download works for me its just the phpBB 3.0.B5 Update package.
btw i have tryed the directdownload link on several servers.

There is, to the best of my knowledge, a file called 2.x -> 3.x - the update is in the install folder and is called install_convert.php and has to be run as part of the install, it is not a separate script!

hehe sorry m8, might seem like a n00b here but .

do i need to overwrite the 2.x files then start the install ?

i have the 3.x files on another loction (i was thinking to import the 2.x database)
but i getting the:

No installation found
To perform a conversion you need to have a default installation of phpBB3. Please note that for a conversion the new installation and the old installation need to reside within the same database. You may now want to perform an installation.

No you do not overwrite phpbb2 - the installation need those files and you cannot import your phpbb3 database they are totally different.

thx for awnsering so fast, hehe now im in big trobble

i have done a backup for the 2.x database, deleted the 2.x files
copyed the new 3.x files to the original location the only problem is
how can the install see the 2.x database for the converting?

You will have to reinstall phpbb2 - there is no other way!

If you haven't deleted phpBB2 database, you only have to upload phpBB2 files to the server.

I have a phpbb board with the CH mods. http://forum.bible.org
will the conversion package convert my board which was heavly modifice with the CH mod

The converter may convert it… though it will leave you with a lot of forum cleanup work.
Since phpBB3 is still in Beta, it's a good time to test the converter and see how it does for you before RC1 comes and you are ready to go live
