New Smilies?

Does anyone know if there will be new smilies in the final release of phpBB3? Not saying this because i dont like the current ones, i was just curious. The current ones are fine - just thought they might as well upgrade the smilies if theyre upgrading the whole theme

I'm not sure, but I know Tom was working on new smilies...

Yeah, can't say I fancy them either. But it would be great if we could also have new smilies, the current ones feel a little "old".

True. I just don't like the shape of the new ones... They look like lightbulbs, lol. The current ones are fine, but are pretty old... Maybe a makeover is in order.

The phpBB2.0 smilies are classics, and an absolutely beautifully done set of smilies all crammed into the small 15x15 canvas. And to think they are done without an alpha channel makes them even more beautiful (either transparent or opaque pixels in gif format).

As for 3.0 smilies, I suppose we will all have to wait and see. The ones in the developing prosilver featurette are sure interesting.

As for animated, I sure hope not, it only makes sense to animate a few, such as crying, laughing, and eye rolling, ohh wait, those are the animated ones from the 2.0 set .

If you don't like them I'm sure we will see lots of smiley packs being realsed soon after we get the style DB back online.

Absolutely. Personally I'd be using the classic version, especially if the "new" ones are included.
