Well, my point was to listen to it while you go about your usual internet surfing just have the podcast on one tab and surf with the other tabs. He could listen to it then instead of waiting for it to download. Dial up limits your options..

Good podcast, very interesting. One thing, you could probably cut out most of the "phpBB" when you're talking about the versions, just say version 2 or version 3. Not a big deal, just a suggestion. ;)

At this point we're planning on doing every other week. That's not a set schedule, though. However, it probably won't be any less often than that. We may do one two weeks in a row should we need to. :)

Another job well done. I can see it's hard to know just how far to go with some topics— was that too much, or too little? But I think whichever side you might err on, you've created a point of interest about a subject us folks out here in TV land might not have thought about much. Awareness is a good thing (like the discussion about safe(er) BBCode). And it's a repeatable experience, when called for. That's all useful, I think.

I know this adds more work, maybe even a lot more work. Thanks to everybody for making it happen.

Small suggestion:
Could you maybe make use of the ID3 tags?
Basic title and so on of course and then - that would really be useful - maybe the show notes (i.e. "table of content") in the comments field.
The long comment won't work with ID3v1, but v2 should be able to take that much text.
There's even a field for the URL...

...and thanks for the podcast of course :D

//Edit: Maybe you could also tag the existing two? (Only if it's not breaking stuff...)

Hmm. I thought I did that. I'll have to check the encoding/export settings. Thanks. :)

Link works for me.

It's also on iTunes if you search for phpbb.

Thanks it's working great. I must say this is a big step for phpbb in many ways. This wil help phpbb understand what the end users "customers " really want to see in phpbb 3 board. So far it seems great and it feels like I'm meeting you guys which is a really cool concept.

Great work keep it up!

Episode two was excellent, especially the second half (not just because I was mentioned :P). I really enjoy the technical bits and your opinions on phpBB3's features.

Just listened to the second podcast. Well, yesterday I did. Great stuff.

I really liked the bit about spam as a non-security thread, which makes sense. After that AJAX was good too. I do think AJAX should be built in to phpBB (directly-login-logout-and dynamic topic update, similar to gmail), but I understand that it won't happened anytime soon.

Thanks for the podcasts guys. Some suggestions for stuff I would love to see talked about.

How many installs of phpbb2 and phpbb3 do you think there are out there ?

What are some of your favourite installs/customisations of phpbb3? I'd love to see what people are doing to customise their forums. phpbb.com is gorgeous with lovely graphics and layout, I'd love to see some more to see what I could do.

Any tips on running a forum - to grow numbers and keep it fun for everyone so that they keep coming back ?
