I am in need of help with the Pseudo-cron.

I seem to be a bit confused as I found different installations of find on the internet. I downloaded the one from here, and I see different files from my previous download.

I've setup the pseudo-cron but I'm missing something. I see the log file created and running. However, no new news is being added to the db.

Here is my latest attempt at this:
/ home / public_html / includes / cronjobs / crontab.txt:

Code: Select all

*/60 4-22 *    *    *  /news_insert.php
/ home / public_html / includes / cronjobs / pseudo-cron.log
is showing runs of the task and so is the email:

Code: Select all

Running */60 4-22 * * * /news_insert.php
Last run: Sat, 20 Oct 2007 18:54:55 -0700
Last scheduled: Sat, 20 Oct 2007 19:00:00 -0700
Completed */60 4-22 * * * /news_insert.php
From the Netclectic folder within Mods:
I added news_insert,php to the root directory - http://www.mjmls.com
Then I added the others to the Includes folder.

I'm not getting this at all. Am I missing something big here or misunderstanding the Pseudo-cron feature?

Thanks for any help.

Is it possible for this to pull news stories with certain keywords. I run a student oriented college website in the Bahamas. I used to manually get college related news stories from two local online papers. Luckily one of the news sites have RSS feeds. I would like to know if I can have this script only get stories with keywords such as "college" or "college of the bahamas" etc.

Hi,

Ive been using this on my forum for the past 8 months with no problems at all, however recently some feeds have stopped working:

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/ext ... orumids=37
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/ext ... orumids=72

It now comes back with
Completed: successfully:
None

Completed: with problems:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/ext ... orumids=37
However all the other feeds work, except any feeds from moneysavingexpert.com

Hope someone might be able to sehd some light on it for me!

Thanks

Is there a version of this that's compatible with phpBB 2.0.22?

PS - I see versions 3.x.x & other versions that are newer than 2.0.22, but I've not been notified of new releases or upgrades from phpBB. Why? Should I upgrade to the most recent versions? Am I missing something major?

Is there a similar thing, something like FIND, for PHPBB3? It would enable my forums to finally upgrade to PHPBB3. Everything else is ready. It's just that one little thing that's missing.

Or is that fabled Joomla-PHPBB-bridge the way to go and if so: Where can I find it?

Will this "Joomla" mimmick FIND? I'm curious, as the version of this MOD that was supposidly being created has never seen the light of day, and I'm starting to suspect it juse may never appear from him period.

(Here's the link that the guy supposidly making it is:
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... S#p3113597

And did a "search" for the joomla-to-phpbb bridge, and this is what I found:
http://www.mehdiplugins.com/misc/phpbbjoom.htm

Please let me know about this, because if it can work as described above, I too would like to begin messing around with joomla to make it work as such.

Can anyone recommend a site that is using this mod?

Is this still a supported mod? I noticed that the authors web site is down.

I know of two sites using this, both apparently never had any problems with it.
