Well Im sure it was asked and I did look but had seen nothing current just older topics on it.

How to install google adsence for the newest version here?

I stuck mine in the overall_footer.html so it gets displayed in all the threads at the bottom. Of course, sign up on Google Adsense first.

edit: Not overall_footer.html, but: index_body.html , viewtopic_body.html and viewforum_body.html

Putting it in the footer is against the TOS for your adsense account and can get you banned from the program.

Instead place it in index_body.html , viewtopic_body.html and viewforum_body.html

I have read this a couple of times. Why is it against the TOS for Adsense ?

I like how you placed yours in the top of your site, how did yo do that one?

Allso any one know how to make them show up vertical on say the right side of the forum?

I see lots of forums that have Adsense in the footer. I don't think this is a problem at all. I have had it in the footer on several of my sites for years.

Having it in the footer is fine, just not the overall footer..

If I remembered right, it's cause there's irrelevance of data that the googlebot crawls through, and returning irrelevant ads.

Makes sense. My ads were always the same irrelevant ads...

As mentioned you can't put it in overall_footer because that places it on every page, pages like search, or pages you have to be logged into view are not allowed in the TOS. If you get your Google ad account banned you'll never get it back. As for why your getting irrelevant ads that would only apply to pages Google can't crawl.

Basically ads should only be placed in content pages accessible by guests.

Mine is wrapped twice I have modified the CSS file to achieve the look you see and frankly it would take me quite a while to figure out exactly what it was I modified or I'd post it. Anyhow if you check the knowledge base there is tutorial on how to achieve a single wrap, there is mod or some other threads around for similar look.

For a vertical ad you would have to get the code from your adsense acccount.

so thats why my adsense got banned way back then i thought it was because my members were clicking the ads every single day but it was probably cause i had it in my footer

CAn anybody please help me, i am not able to figure out whee exactly do i need to paste the adsense code in the "index_body.html"
it says to paste in the body, but i cant see any <body> </body>!!!
Please help it!

I put mine at the very bottom, just before 

You can experiment and put it wherever you want, though.

I'm trying to add AdSense as well to the view forum page, yet nothing is showing. I did paste the code right after the indicated comment line.

Edit: purged the cache in the ACP - fixed the issue.

I hope you guys realize that phpBB uses adsense in their overall_footer

It's not every ad but some (that are adsense ads).

If you have forums that the adsense bot can't see, then just set up an account for Google to use and insert the info into adsense. Or just give bots rights to read all forums, however if someone simulates a bot then they can read all forums on your page.

As far as search pages and member lists... I really doubt your going to get banned for it considering just about EVERY forum that runs adsense has them on every page. Ya know all of those free forum hosts that put an ad in the header everywhere? Surely they would have been cut off a long time ago.
