Sticky in phpbb3?

Post by oshu »

I'm kind of new to phpbb, but my problem is... I can't find a way to make my post a sticky or announcement.

Thanks in advance..

Have you got the permissions set correctly?

I have the same problem. I can't figure out how to make a sticky.

delete, move, merge, copy, lock, resynch ... are the only options I have in the mod control panel.

There is no "make sticky" ...

Blimey this is an old topic.

You need to look in the group forum permissions. You can set which groups have the permission to set stickies on a per forum basis. It's on the post tab.

I've searched all over the forum permissions and there's no option in the to set a sticky permission on any group nor does it show up on the front end. Did you guys install a hack, or are you using a different version than us?

It is in Forum Permissions.
Change your moderator group's access level to each forum from Standard Access to Full Access.

I can't do stickies either. My username is the first one created when I installed phpBB3. It is in both the Global Moderators and Administrator groups. The Administrator has the Full Admin role. I have searched high in low in: the initial posting of a topic, the editing of a topic, the moderator control panel, and I cannot find an option to sticky. I am a long time phpBB2 admin. What's up with this? It's either a bug or a horrible UI.

Being able to sticky is not an admin/moderator permission.
It's a forum based permission.

As Brf said you need to look in forum permissions or groups forum permissions and edit the admin and/or global mod permissions for the forum you want them to post stickies in.

I am quite new to this and very confused. I have logged in as Administrator, gone into the ACP and changed the forum permission to allow Administrators to post announcements/sticky. How do I then do the next bit? When I go to post a new topic, it does not give me the option to post an announcement/sticky.
