The largest phpBB2 boards

Post by AbelaJohnB »

Ok, if you have MORE THEN 50,000 posts/articles and over 5,000 registered members, then please post your URL (or send me a PM if you want it kept quiet).

Looking for a list of the largest phpBB2 (2 !!) boards being used.

(btw, this forum does not qualify... gotta be bigger)`
(edited by dhn about 1 year later: I think now it qualifies, doesn't it? ;))

Anybody have one out there??

Also, if you can post what kind of band-width your dealing with, as well as server-load, that would be useful.

Thanks.

vcdhelp shows that they have over 25000 users. Their search function is offline and I guess maybe search in phpbb is too heavy for their server.

Back to actual phpBB forums, my RC3 forum is at ~5800 users, ~75500 posts. :)

It was originally running Phorum, then I converted to phpBB v1.4.4, and after a recent hacking attempt, brought it up to RC3.

Hmm. Looks like I'm still the winner here :D

4722 users and 833,417 posts.

BTW search is fully enabled and fast :D
Only performance problem that I'm seeing is in inserting new posts into the search index. Editing a message can take up to something like 7 seconds. Well, a lot longer if you copy/paste a lot of text.

BTW It's:

Normally have 60 to 80 ppl online during the day, around 100-130 during the evenings.

Ok, I cleaned this topic up a little. Please do NOT post boards with less than 40.000 - 50.000 posts. This list will be watched, so don't even try to Spam. :P

BTW, the original topic had 5 pages ... a lot of useless post in the trashcan now.

Nope members are not as important as many forum admins purge them from time to time to get rid of inactive users. 5000 as John said in his initial post should be a good number.

Please guys, keep the discussion to a minimum.
