overall_header.html question

Post by Maurizio1230 »

Hi,

I edit overall_header.html file like you can see here http://hostinvent.com/host/Forum/ and here http://hostinvent.com/host/Forum/styles ... eader.html.

In the latest url (http://hostinvent.com/host/Forum/styles ... eader.html) you can see the header within a blank region above and in phpbb you see the header with a blank region above.

Image

How can I remove this blank region?

Thank you very much ;)

In the body section of common.css, change padding: 12px 0; to padding: 0;

I see the same blank region.
I purge the cache and change the padding like you can see here http://hostinvent.com/host/Forum/styles ... common.css

Thanks for the reply ;)

Try adding margin-top: -12px to the #wrap section of common.css

hmm....ok, go ahead an remove the margin-top:-12px; from #wrap and then add a new section...

Code: Select all

page-header {
	margin-top:-12px;
}

You have the font-size set to 0px in the following in common.css:

Code: Select all

body {
	/* Text-Sizing with ems: http://www.clagnut.com/blog/348/ */
	font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
	color: #828282;
	background-color: #FFFFFF;
	/*font-size: 62.5%; This sets the default font size to be equivalent to 10px */
	font-size: 0px;
	margin: 0;
	padding: 0px;
}
Change it back to 10px then refresh your theme. :)

In the overall header I insert this:

Code: Select all

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html>
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://hostinvent.com/host/images/favicon.ico" />
<link href="http://hostinvent.com/host/templates/rt_mediamogul/css/template.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<link href="http://hostinvent.com/host/templates/rt_mediamogul/css/style5.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

<!-- start header bar -->
<div id="header-bar">
</div>
<!-- end header bar -->
<!-- start logo area -->
<div class="wrapper">
<div id="header">
<a href="http://hostinvent.com/host"><img src="http://hostinvent.com/host/images/logo.png" /></a>
<div id="banner">
<img src="http://hostinvent.com/host/images/hosting/100mbit.jpg" alt="100mbit" title="100mbit" width="150" height="66" /></div>
</div>
</div>

<!-- end logo area -->
</html>
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" dir="{S_CONTENT_DIRECTION}" lang="{S_USER_LANG}" xml:lang="{S_USER_LANG}">
<head>

<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset={S_CONTENT_ENCODING}" />
<meta http-equiv="content-style-type" content="text/css" />
<meta http-equiv="content-language" content="{S_USER_LANG}" />
<meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no" />
<meta name="resource-type" content="document" />
<meta name="distribution" content="global" />
<meta name="copyright" content="2002-2006 phpBB Group" />
<meta name="keywords" content="" />
<meta name="description" content="" />
{META}
<title>{SITENAME} &bull; <!-- IF S_IN_MCP -->{L_MCP} &bull; <!-- ELSEIF S_IN_UCP -->{L_UCP} &bull; <!-- ENDIF -->{PAGE_TITLE}</title>
Could create problems?

thank you very much

I've seen things like that cause problems before (quick and easy isn't always the best way ;) ), though I'm not entirely sure if that's the problem in this case. Why not remove the extra code and see how it affects it?
