Editing Posts to make topic icon appear?

How do i edit posts on my website so that a topic icon appears (You know the little green alien dude, the star, a !, ?, and so on)

First make sure they're turned on.

Admin panel>manage forums
Click the green cog icon next to the forum you want and scroll down to
Enable topic icons:

Permissions>groups forum permissions
Choose the group you want to be able to use them (eg registered users)
Standard access allows them to use the icons or

Advanced permissions
post tab
Can use topic/post icons

I have it enabled for admins and mods but id like to edit posts of regular users for it to appear.

In essence, it will highlight good topics of debate, but i dont want any user to be able to use the forum icons. Anyway to do this?

Then you should just be able to edit the first post in the topic and add an icon, just like we're able to do with the topic solved tick.

it does not appear to me when editing posts of anyone including mods.

Double check all the the options and permissions then.

Make sure it's on in the forum management and that you have permissions to use it in the forum permissions.
