2.0.23 to 3.0.2 does URL change?

Post by Captain Jim » Sat Aug 02, 2008 9:00 pm

Hi,

I'm currently running PHPBB 2.0.23 at this address:
http://www.jimmydreamz.com/forums

I want to upgrade to 3.0.2, but keep the same URL. Is that possible?

I've done the upgrade on a local server at my house and it worked really well, the only problem I have noticed thus far is that some avatars did make it through the conversion process, which is something I can live with. The new interface is nice and I love the clean look.

Any advice on this URL question would be great.
Thanks!

Yes, posts are accessible via the same URLs, and you can place the new board in the same location as the old board, making the transfer transparent URL-wise.

Thanks! When I get my webpages re-designed, I will be making the change.

Looking forward to getting 3 up and running!
