i've the shoutbox already integrated on my board, but i mean to change the order that new replyes on chat are showed

they are from oldest to newest and i want to show from newest to oldest
I think its direction is the same as for chat messages. Why not give it a shot ::

Either replace in lib/class/AJAXChat.php

Code: Select all

					DESC
with

Code: Select all

					ASC
or just delete the whole line.

Something strange 'cause it should work as long as you only want to
get the last chat messages in ascending order instead of desc. For more,
you may also have to change some parts of ajax script and design.

I need some help. I have been fiddling with this addon and getting it installed so it can be accessed from a link on the site is easy. However, after following these instructions on installing it as a shoutbox is really frustrating me. I can get the chat window and message entry bar working fine, but none of the smiley, user, etc.... tools are showing. Below is a pic of what I mean and be nice I am new at this ;). Pardon the color, it was done so I could see it easier :P. Thanks

As far as I know, that is the way it is coded if used as you are using it.
Thats why most of us use it as a pop up window, that way you get everything available.
Incorporating it into a page will give you none of the bells and whistles you are wanting.

That doesn't mean someone hasn't done it yet. The just aren't telling about it as of yet.

@ jimcarrel
Thanks for the quick reply. I guess that's how it's gonna be. I guess I can live with it being a popup. Now I have to filter through all these pages to figure out how to make the chat use the member logins from the forums. Again...TYVM

Ok, I have the Chat installed on my server and I absolutely love it. I have a few questions thought that I cannot find the answers for, even after reading the wiki@SF.

I have added the /away and /back commands for afk, but I need to know how I can add this to the help in the chatbox itself.

[Solved] Also, I would like to add some of my own emoticons. The Ajax site says this is easy, so I must be dense :S.

If, possilbe I would prefer a link so I can read all this stuff for myself, but either way I need to figure these two things out.

Thanks so much for all the help, my board members really enjoy the addition of this chat!!

Is anyone using this chat as a shoutbox? If so could you please post a link to your site so I can see what it looks like?

I'm also a little worried that the author isn't supporting the mod here anymore, and his site is so slow that I can't use it. :(

How would i go about adding this to the Homepage?

Also giving a Moderator Privileges or is that automatically done?

Lastly clearing the messages on the current chat?

If you are using it on the Forum, it will automatically take them over.
