The OLD Look

Post by Derisor »

This should give a good representation of what is possible with pbpBB2. Practically an advertisement I hope. My templates arent quite done but they are geting there. Im mostly in flux because phpBB2 is still in flux. I am also workign on a large guilde on custom phpBB2 templates. I intend to donate such guide to the group.

Check it out andlet me know what you think. This represents a radical alteration of the looks.

Edit: Note thatthe main page to that site, the Chronicle, is AUTO generated off one of the forums. When you add to the news forum, the chronicle page is auto updated. If anyone wants that php script, drop me a line.

Maybe you shouldn't set a:hover to bold text.
Butting a separator between topics would be nice too.

Thanks for the complements. Sure there are a couple issues but it is gettign there and Im becomming a bit of a phpBB2 template expert in the process.

As for the bold text, all of it should be bold, not just on hover. Hover should just add overline.

Very cool. I especially like the chipped metal platey things that everything is "engraved" on.

The a:hover works fine for me (overline, no change in boldness)

One thing: The lowest panel (where it says "Powered by phpBB 2.0 beta-1 © 2001 phpBB Group") is huge! And theres only that one line of text at the top. Perhaps shrink it?

So since you're an expert, will you be writing a little tutorial to bring the rest of us up to speed? :D I would really appreciate that!!

Oh please write the tutorial. If you and subBlue co-author it, that would be real awesome and helpful :)

Hi !

Wow looks really great :o

Now phpBB2 has another great theme totally different to common themes.
I hope this example inspires many other users to create their own theme. So we will have a large collection :D
