Lost password - no mail

Lost password - no mail

My user has lost their password and cannot get in. They went to the forgot password thing and apparently have received no confimation as yet?

they probably put in a false e-mail. That would explain them not recieving it.

I setup a main account to recieve all bounced e-mail sent to & from our mail server & I can see what happened. If you can try that, if it bounces it should tell you why. ( invalid account, no server response, etc. ;) )
you smell something? :)

If you get this problem, and what "whofarted" said doesn't help, then you can always take the easy way out, and change their password in profile :).

I've had the same problem.

I'm using 2.0.6 and it appears that the system never sends out the new password. The user's e-mail address is correct and has been verified as correct outside the system.

Anyone else got any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

No - everything works as planned and the system says to the use that mail has been generated, but nothing ever goes out to the user.

go to admin panel
Click User Management
Type username
Click Look Up User
Change Password manually
give user new password.
User changes password.
Fin.

Yes, thanks. It's an acceptable "work around" but it's still a "work around" since the mail is NOT going out.

Any ideas why the mail portion is not working properly, folks?

Probably usercp_password.php is corrupted.
