If you know the username (and email address for it), you can use phpBB's "I've forgotten my password" link on the logon page to get a new one.
Otherwise you can use the Admin Toolit (link in my sig) to promote any username to admin.

It works! The only left is all chinese topics/messages become "?????", while users/categories appear to okay...
Any genius can make a Unicode/Chinese compatible version?
Thanks for the great effort on the script.
I think it doesn't, as the update from 1.04 to 1.05 required a change of the DB tables too. But i will try it myself. I'm stuck with the sh*** Fireboard too.
EDIT: I made a conversion form FB 1.0.5 RC2 and it works.
Im about to migrate a Fireboard to phpbb as well. im going to leave the Fireboard forum active until i make sure that everything works, but the install of phpbb is there and running great
I just registered to say THANK YOU to everybody who have made the conversion working!
It worked for me with the suggested configuration (FB 1.0.4, phpBB 2.0.22).
Still have some issues with character-encoding and the passwords.
Does anybody know what happens with the passwords when upgrading from phpbb2 to phpbb3 AND then connecting it via a bridge with joomla?
I mean, might be that there is a bridge which synchronizes the users between the 2 system. Now, if the joomla users table is the source for that, the passwords which are stored in the phpbb3 user table will be overwritten with the correct ones coming from joomla.
the best bridge out there right now is still in an alpha phase but works pretty damn good and thats jfusion. it uses joomla as the master and PHPBB as the slave. every time you logon to joomla it dual logs you on to whatever slaves you have configured.
I installed JFusion according to what is written on their website, with all the suggested fine tuning, etc.
Everything seemed to work, at least by the configuration and the self tests, but finally it does not do the job. I can login to joomla, but I'm not logged in to phpBB3. And their site is now down...

You probably need to make sure they are both using the same cookie settings.
