2 Problems:

1. I've installed Strategy Defense 3 on localhost - and it works great. But on the server it doesn't. Each time a user submits his score, he is forced to the index of the forum and is logged out.
The phpBB forum on localhost is exactly the same as the one on the sever, because it's committed with SVN.

Does anyone know the reason for this?

2. The time a user has played isn't correct.
E.g. you can play a game five times with a summe of an hour. But after that a time of "17 hours ...." is shown. (I mean the total time of a user in the arcade, not the total time for one game.)
I think that this is a known bug. But it's a bug. :)

Great arcade btw.!

Besides, will the session errors ever get downsized?

Then you must have done something wrong, possibly during an update or as the case may be, I don't
know, just because it's working pretty well for me and the other guys at origon.dk and so on :/

You can't get multiplayer games in this sort of arcade so that's imposible.
Download games for phpbb-Arcade at:

easygo wrote:Jeff, after some testing e.g. with IE7 blocking cookies on my site
I'm confused somewhat 'cause it seems like this variable

Code: Select all

$game_sid = (isset($_POST['game_sid'])) ? request_var('game_sid', '') : false;
always returns FALSE :? // so with or w/o accepting cookies

Unfortunately it would mean that e.g. IBPRO game score
submits are highly dependent on cookies, too.

Let me know if I'm wrong on this one.
That depends on the game. Some games accept and return game_sid others do not. It depends on how the games scoring is coded, I believe activity mod games use the game_sid alot. It is more there to check to see if it is set, if not it falls back to cookies.

From my experience back to when I was helping code the phpnuke arcade most game types including ibpro and v3arcade are dependent on correct cookie settings to some degree. I originally coded support for ibpro games in the nuke arcade and it was always dependent on the cookie settings.
Yeah, I'm late...as I had to sleep on it. :D

Thanks anyway! That kept me from going to seek a needle in a haystack and who knows
maybe too, from going to be certified insane after weeks w/o any success.

You did not edit index.php on the server.

I have never seen this issue or had anyone report it. If its recording the game time correctly then the total time should be correct as well. It is calcluated by taking the sum of all the 'total_time' fields inside the scores table for the user. You could check you user stats and make sure all the games time add up to the total. There you should see how its calculated.

I am not sure what you mean here.

This can hardly be the only mistake he made when he said, the user was logged out as well. :?

True...

I should read better next time. ;) I missed that part.

I would also check the cookie settings as that is usually the problem if you are logged out when redirected.

1. No, the index.php is set correctly. It's exactly the same version on my local machine.
The cookies are also correct. Any other idea?

2. E. g. one user has played Flash Circle TD for more than 17 hours, but he said he has only played for an hour.

3. I've installed National Treasure Pinball and it runs correctly on localhost. But on the server it doesn't.
The fields of the XML-sheet aren't found in the game. Every titel shows "undefined".
Instead of "RESTART" it shows "UNDEFINED", instead of "START" it shows "UNDEFINED", and so on.
Any idea for this?
I've uploaded both folders in the correct directory.

4. In one game I've exactly the same highscore as another player. We're both on rank 1, but only one of us has a trophy. Bug or feature?

hi. i attempted an install, but after all the files were edited and uploaded, i attempted to access the arcade install file, and my browser was directed to /install/index.php (as in the main install file when creating a forum). then, every page i attempted to access in the forum went to the same address. the directory didnt even exist on the sever, and i wasnt able to locate where it would be getting the redirect from.

any ideas?
