I decided to install this mod after a user requested to be able to use a flash animation in his signature. It works very well and I've also discovered the cool mod the is QBB :) .

There is one thing that I would like to see added and that's the possibility of keeping proportions when you only specify one of the height and width parameters. For example, when you resize an image with HTML, you can simply specify a certain width and the height will automatically be resized.

I don't know if this possible with flash but it would solve the headache of resizing a flash animation until the proportions are just rate and the animation isn't truncated.

if you use width=50% the browser takes care of keeping the image in proportion

for this MOD to generate code that keeps it in proportion with just one of width/height it would need to be able to understand the SWF format to it can determine the ratio (from the dmensions, which is what IE/NS would do when you use width=50%)

that's not required to create a tag at all in this way if it uses the regular Flash encapsulation code but replaces various values.

Well, let me explain this more clearly. I post the following code as an example :

Code: Select all

[flash]http://a_web_site.net/subfolder/sig.swf[/flash]
What happens when no parameters are given is that the flash animation is displayed at 100 x 100. The full height of the animation is displayed but only 100 px of the center of the animation is displayed breadthwise.

After I installed the mod, the user who requested it was wondering how to get his signature to display correctly. I finally resorted to taking a screenshot of his signature and estimating the height/width proportion so I could modify the height/width parameters so that it displayed correctly.

P.S: I suppose it would be possible to create a BBCode that will output the necessary HTML that would hand over the resizing to your browser :P .

Are you encountering a problem when specifying values of that size ?

Thank you for the link, Fearless... ;)

I gues I'll have to abide by the spirit then...

Sorry, adzyboy... :(
Well... Not from this place, but there should be some other places where you might lurk around to see if they have a copy of it available...
But then, if it is not something urgent, you might want to hang loose and wait till eht author update the copy... ;)

ok, thank you...

I'll have a look round a few different sites, and try to find it...

If not, I'll just do without it.

Well, the first download link I posted was to a danish phpBB site and it worked. For some reason, a moderator saw fit to delete my post and the thread where I found the link :( .

Yeah... That's what I thought... Well... It's sad to see the threads are moderated but I'm glad that the moderators are doing their job right... :)

Any luck, adzyboy??? :)
