First off, thank you for this mod. It was packaged very well and does exactly what it claims to do.

Just now I am noticing that it is stating "108" new users have registered in the last 24 hours. What might cause it to do that as I'm certain over 100 users have NOT registered much less 1 new user.

[edit] Scratch that ... I just realized I had just installed the Bots List mod including - you guessed it - over 100 bot info to the admin. Hence my 108 new users haha. :lol:

I only ask because your board may well have users in several different time zones.

Craig.
Yeah I have users on different timezones but i figured i'd just do it at midnight my time ESDT with no DST and it would be close enough for everybody.

I know this is slightly unrelated, but I've not been able to find the answer to my question and hope some can help here as it relates to this mod.

I would like to change the "Who is Online" stats from 5 minutes to 60 minutes.

For example, this:

Code: Select all

In total there are 3 users online :: 2 registered, 0 hidden and 1 guest (based on users active over the past 5 minutes)
Would become this:

Code: Select all

In total there are 15 users online :: 10 registered, 0 hidden and 5 guest (based on users active over the past 60 minutes)
Thanks for any help with this, and thanks for this mod as well :D

Integration instructions for eTech style

editing styles/etech/template/index_body.html

Find:

Code: Select all

			<td class="row1 nobold"><b class="gensmall">{L_LEGEND} :: {LEGEND}</b></td>
Replace With:

Code: Select all

			<td class="row1 nobold"><b class="gensmall">
				<!-- IF not S_IS_BOT --><p>
       				{USERS_24HOUR_TOTAL}: <!-- BEGIN lastvisit -->{lastvisit.USERNAME_FULL}<!-- IF not lastvisit.S_LAST_ROW -->, <!-- ENDIF -->				<!-- END lastvisit -->
				</p><!-- ENDIF -->

				<p><b>{L_LEGEND} :: {LEGEND}</b></p></td>

Find:

Code: Select all

<p class="genmed">{TOTAL_POSTS} | {TOTAL_TOPICS} | {TOTAL_USERS} | {NEWEST_USER}</p>
Add After:

Code: Select all

	<!-- IF not S_IS_BOT -->
	<br /><h3 id="24hour_stats">{L_24HOUR_STATS}</h3>
	<p>{24HOUR_POSTS} | {24HOUR_TOPICS} | {24HOUR_USERS}</p>
	<!-- ENDIF -->
Not sure how many people use this style but figured I'd post it while I'm here :P

And you'll find that almost all of CyberAlien's styles can be modified with the same instructions. :)

Was there a solution as to whether the timeframe could be reset at midnight rather than having a running latest 24 hour tally?

i i apply the modification for hidden users, are admins e moderators still able to see these users in the 24 hours list?

thank you
Yes, users those have permission to view hidden users... they can.

@ HoL:

I managed to use part of your code to fit my needs, now talking about hidden users:

is that correct the count does not show the exact amount of users if hiddens are there?

I mean, today I got 2 hiddens and 5 regged, so to speak..

it says 5 if not logged-in and 7 if I am (ofcourse I have permissions) ..

don't know if I was enough clear and thanks.

Hi there, Highway..
If we use the large board optimized functions file and apply the patch to hide hidden users, considering the fact that more queries are added in order to determine if a user has the permissions to view hidden, will this make the optimized file usage pointless? :?

Chris, no, not a tall. The hidden users don’t add an extra query, but even if they did, the performance improvements in the attached file far outweigh anything an extra query would do. :)

I added instructions for CyberAlien styles to the third post.

I’m not clear on what you’re asking. :?

If the array is empty, see 'no users have logged in within the 24 hrs' then it shows this:
Users active over the last 24 hours:
instead of
Users active over the last 24 hours: None
as for the hidden users, it does not show the exact amount of the users they have logged-in, despite they are or not hidden... should be fine to have something like...
0 registered, 0 hidden
but only showing the usernames to those have permissions to see that.

Let me know pls if you need me to be more clear.. thank you in advance. :)
