Ok my board is now phpbb3 i have tried again it has solved that problem now it is complaining about the date format, i have already changed the date format in general>configuration and changed it there, is there anywhere else i have to change it?

There should be an option to change it in your member preferences.

Ok that worked, the next thing it says is to execute the 3 sql files how do i do that?

If you have phpMyAdmin, just use the "import" or "SQL" command to upload the file to the database.

I really appreciate all of your help, I think I am very unlucky when trying to upload members_php_BB3.sql

i get this error:

You used the prefix "phpbb 3" but that's probably not what the database prefix is. Check the tables -- they will all start with the same thing; that's the prefix you should use.

Yer the databases prefix is phpb2 is there away of changing this?

You want to change "table_prefix" under settings.py.

Also, it would appear that you are converting to phpBB2. This converter only works with phpBB3, so you will want to upgrade first.
