Not authorised Installation Issue

Post by sard » Thu Dec 25, 2008 11:22 am

I think I did everything that was written in previous posts and when I hit install/index.php I just have normal view of the forum with message "You are not authorised to access this area." CHMODE is 755, 777 doesn't acces the files and folders.

You need to be founder in order to install AutoMOD.

If you are founder, you shouldn't see that in ACP Permissions, but while managing your user account in the ACP.

Is it a phpBB-error or an apache/other webserver error?

You're also not logged in according to that picture so the message is correct ;-)

Probably you are right. When i redirect the url address to install/index.php I'am always not registered. I register from there or before accesing, I tried changing the settings in coockies, server, security and load settings, tried with another browser, still I can't hit the reason why I'am not authorised to open the automode index page. Does anyone have a clue how to access logged?

I don't understand why you're registering when you get to that page. That does nothing. You need to be signed in as an administrator before you even try to open install/index.php in the browser.

The result is the same, I just try both approaches.

Looks to me like you have incorrect cookie settings and you're not being kept logged in.

I don't know what the problem was but I manage installation this way. I enter normal index page /forum/index.php?sid=a1f3f4318e7b9af2a4dd15b409af5a8b and I just enter install/ before index.php?id=..... so I continue the session id with previous authorisation.
