Information for translations
I would like to pack this MOD with as many translations as possible. As I speak only a few languages and can hardly supply accurate translations for more than two or three languages I would appreciate your help.
What to translate:
- The language file in root/language/en/mods/, please save it in UTF8 so I can pack it properly
- These strings in the install file (please change the lang attribute to your language's ISO code):
<title lang="en">Static Pages</title>
<description lang="en">This MOD adds a module to the ACP through which you can add static pages on the forum.</description>
<author-notes lang="en">BBCodes are supported. An optional edit is included to allow URL rewrites for nice looking URLs.</author-notes>
- The changelog, however this is optional and not neccesary
- The DIY insturctions - since there are key instructions to make the MOD work, please include them
Information about the development plan and functionality
MOD download will be offered when I reach the first beta version. Expect it in a week (poke me if I go over this date)
The pages will be served by one php file. Without mod_rewrite, they will be accessible as page.php?id=1, page.php?id=n etc... with mod_rewrite, it will be possible to determine your custom URLs, this feature might be added a bit later though.
Page content will be cached for a few hours but purging cache will NOT delete anything, as that would be totally against caching. After editing or adding a page, the cache for that page will be refreshed, so no need to manually refresh it.
To add pages, you will never have to touch the files, everything is accessible by ACP.
I plan to upgrade this MOD throughout the development and release a fully functional, yet simple version first. There will be upgrade paths, so no worries about installing the MOD.
