I don't think you can download 2.0.0 you'll have to go with 2.2.1

It's kind of like a plug-in slot.

It doesn't do anything by itself, but other mods will be able to use it.

For instance, if the referral system mod, or the attachment mod, had a small bit of code in the right place, you could specifiy a cash event for referrals or for uploads, such that a user gets cash for uploading, or for referrals.

This is pretty much open to any mod, or regular board function, that you want users to be rewarded for doing, in excess of regular posting actions.

Hmm, is there any "tutorial" on how to make things compatible with points? Like, what "small bit of code" would be required to make a mod like attachment mod work?

I have a problem with the hack... There are too many pages to find the solution here, then i'll post it again:

When somebody make a post, in te top of the page appears an error like this:

postrow.POSTER_NAME}

and that error makes repeat the user avatar in the top of the page again, and again, and again.... How can I fix it? Do you need any pic of the problem?

I think that there is a problem with the viewtopic.php and view_topic_body.tpl archives, but I'm not sure....

A proper installation of Cash Mod could not produce this error.

It seems to me that you've somehow deleted a { in your viewtopic_body.tpl, this is not caused by Cash Mod.

However, you can fix it by opening up your viewtopic_body.tpl and finding the first

Code: Select all

postrow.POSTER_NAME}
that doesn't have a

Code: Select all

{
immediately before it. put one there. that should probably fix your problem.

CashMod Problem

Post by reddem0n »

Alright i've been working hours on this, been trying to re-check everything to see if it was alright and I just can't seem to narrow down to what the problem is. If anyone is out there who has even a suggestion on what I can do to fix this problem, please tell me because no one is able to read any of the posts in my forums and some other features arent working as well like memberslist . Anytime I try to read my posts I get this error message
message_die() was called multiple times. This isn't supposed to happen. Was message_die() used in page_tail.php?

Please respond soon. :cry:

Thanks,

Cash deductions?

Post by ric700 »

Great mod! OK, users can donate cash to other users for good behavior, but is there a mechanism whereby users can deduct cash (and possibly pay to do so) from other users for bad behavior?

I see where admins and moderators can deduct cash but I don't see where users can do this.

Thanks,

Ric

There is no mechanism for this.

That sort of mechanism only seems to have a purpose of facilitating angry users... such a thing, i think, is unhealthy for a forum. (that's just my opinion). Preferably, your users wouldn't be using such a mechanism, or often... If necessesary, you can have your users go to your moderators or admins personally for such assistance: this also allows you to focus your attention on contentious issues on your board, which is also a good idea, as such things generally require close watching/moderation.

Loads Of Pages to wade through

Post by Triadian »

please forgive me if this has been answered already.

i think i installed the mod correctly and all seems to be working fine in the forums that have the mod enabled

however in the forums that have the mod disabled such as testing section etc. i see no money values in the view topics section under the avatar.

i see the name of the currency and can modify it etc.. just cant see the value.

:(

thanks for the replies and thanks to the mod author

xore is the man

Post by reddem0n »

hey there xore, you helped me solve my last problem...after that i ran into some more problems..

alright the cash index page in the forum contral panel doesnt work...anytime i try to access it ......it always gives me this error
Template->make_filename(): Error - file does not exist

so i checked the main page and saw there was already a solution to this and it said to make sure ALL the Tpl files are where they should be...well ive pretty much checked all the templates and uploaded them to the places again and had to overwrite the original ones...is there something im missing? because i know i've uploaded all of them to all 4 of my templates....

and the next problem is that after adding on that cashindex addon to the cashmod...i got everything setup...but i dont see any changes in the index..php of my forums..my main page under "registered users" it should say richest user..i dont see that though..i ran the install and modified all the files as well.

one more thing for you xore....i noticed that your website wasnt working and i personally think it would be a great place to get information/support and have your things there...if you need I am willing to give you some space....PM me.... 8) [/list]

I have the Cash Mod installed. I want the users profile to show their bank holdings right under their cash total(as it only shows how much cash they have in their hand). What codes and modifications do I need to add?

thanks
