Advanced Visual Anti Bot

Post by Extensions Robot »

Modification name: Advanced Visual Anti Bot
Author: lsjames
Modification description: Advanced Visual Anti Bot is an effective solution for preventing spambot. It replace the default visual confirmation background with a random picture. So spambot can not check them out by OCR. The background pictures are replaceable. Advanced Visual Anti Bot does not require any database modifications or admin panel configuration.
Modification version: 1.0.2

This could proof to be a useful modification.
Installed it at a (almost) clean board with a lot of bots registering, now wait and see if it stops them.

Thnx :)

Hi,

This Mod look excellent. I have just installed it and feel that this will avoid many many attemps for BOT registration.

Is there any way that even the numbers generated by Captha can be changed to different font ?

Thanks

Just recently started getting a bunch of bogus registrations on my forum (after doing a forum upgrade ironically)...so I installed this and will try to report back on its success...

Very easy installation by the way.

Just installed on my board, super quick edit. I've been getting alot of spammers lately most do not make it on to the board because of the user email verification, but still plenty do. and its getting a little annoying. anyway I'll post back in 4-5 days here (give it some time to test) and let you know how its working out.
Thanks for the mod and congrats on validation :)

I have been getting many users registered with Viagra and porn...stuff of that nature in their username lately hopefully this will put a stop to them. Whats awkward though is that most of them sign up but dont post any spam, which i am not complaining about but isnt that the purpose of signing up, to spam the board? Anyways i dont want them registering. This mod appears to be very well made, goin to give this a shot! thx :ugeek:

Yeah, I got it. I just installed everything and I'm doing a test registration but it doesn't seem to be working. The verification image should be on the first page of the registration process correct? It's still showing the old one. I think I'm having the same issue as fasko

Right click on the file and choose "Open with..." then tell it to open in your browser.
