[BETA] Indicate follow-up pages 0.0.1

Post by MartectX »

MOD Title: Indicate follow-up pages
MOD Description: Indicates that there are follow-up posts in the current thread.
MOD Version: 0.0.1
MOD Download: http://mods.martectx.de/indicate_followup_pages.zip

Once again it happened to me. A board member asks an innocent, easy question and to my amazement no one has answered yet! So I write up a short response and submit it. When I am forwarded to my post I freeze in terror as there is already an answer or even multiple answers or - worst case - a whole discussion about this or another question entirely. Thing is, they were on the next page and my zealous self did not notice that.

This has gone on long enough. I'll have an indicator at the bottom of a thread's page! I'll know if this is the last post or if there are follow-up replies! I'll be invincible!! (well, maybe not the last part)

You'll find instructions in the first post. Suggestions for improvement very welcome!

I'm thinking of another wording, maybe "There's more!" or somesuch...

I'm afraid I don't understand what this does. It just adds a "next" at the bottom if there are more pages? But isn't that what the page numbers are for? If you are reading the last post on a page, isn't it easy to see if the thread continues on another page by looking at the page numbers right under the last post on that page?

You would think that, wouldn't you... experience teached some of us otherwise.

EDIT: ModX'ed the instructions and released BETA.
