Hi there, platinum_2007... congrats for validation of your mod.. :D
I have one question:
In includes/acp/acp_board.php one addition your mod makes is:
'number_char_post' => array('lang' => 'NUMBER_CHAR_POST', 'validate' => 'string', 'type' => 'text:1:4', 'explain' => true),
What is the maximum number of characters for this? Is it 255?
My mods in MODDB:
Add Homepage link in header - Change user activity post limit - Post number in viewtopic
If you need support click on the support tab there and post your question.
Do not PM me - chances of viewing my PMs are way thinner than viewing the support question in the customization DB...

Yes 255 would be the max amount of characters you could display.

Can you integrate it with the your Status Mod
so when a user changes his status, it appears in the User recent activity

also can you integrate it with "phpBB3 Ultra-Gallery"
so when the user upload or comment on a certain photo, it appears in the User recent activity

also to be integrated with the phpBB arcade mod

also when he changes his signature or his avatar

all of this would be great if it appears in the User recent activity

that will make it the best :)

I hate to ask this lame question but in the "Selected tags" in addition to Files edits, etc., you have SQL Schema Changes.

My question is, what are SQL Schema Changes and how do I go about editing them?

Thanks for not laughing.

A Query is provided in the install.xml that you need to run in phpmyadmin, or if you install with automod it will be done automatically.

Thank you for the answer. I feel slightly less foolish.

I'm somewhat familiar with phpmyadmin but I've never run any kind of install.xml on there. Is it automated? Can you give me a brief rundown on where in phpmyadmin I would start and execute the install.xml?

You do not execute the install.xml file in phpmyadmin..
In the install.xml file, there is a section "SQL" which contains the queries needed to be executed in phpmyadmin. So, you need to open the install.xml in your browser (IE, FF, etc) find that section and just copy those queries to run in phpmyadmin (click on sql tab in phpmyadmin, paste the copied text - execute).. ;)

Here is a Video i made on how to run a Query in phpmyadmin

http://www.screencast.com/users/platinu ... 69c0368367

The query is found in the install.xml. There is a SQL box, copy and paste the content of the box.

ChriZathens, platinum_2007, thank you for the helpful comments. I'll give it a shot. Hopefully I won't run into any trouble, but if I do Ipray you guys wouldn't mind answering additional questions. Thanks again.

Hey everyone, I must say this is a neat little mod... I got it working, but I am having trouble with what is displayed in the ACP.. Instead of the line being displayed, it displays this:

ALLOW_RECENT_ACTIVITY:
Yes No

NUMBER_RECENT_ACTIVITY:

SHOW_RECENT_POST:
Yes No

NUMBER_CHAR_POST:

The mod works, it just seems to display incorrectly.

From what I've read this is a language file problem, but I have redone the two language files over to no avail. Could someone help me shed some light on this problem? I can post or PM the file contents if you'd like.

Thanks.

You are missing the language edits for

language/en/acp/board.php

not it may be

language/en_us/acp/board.php

or

language/fr/acp/board.php

depending on that language you use.
