I did this for my own site so thought I'd put this mod together quickly for anyone who might want it.

I was thinking about doing something similar just the other day. Good work on beating me to it.

Link to profile on index.html is fine, but when you click the link to edit your profile and avatar on the profile page it returns a 404 error.

I installed it using SEO-PHPBB3.0.4 and using AUTOMOD.

I'm testing on localhost so I haven't used the rewrite settings for .htaccess, so I'm not thinking it's the PHP-SEO version causing the problem.

I noticed the path to my profile editing on this mod shows it as:

Code: Select all

http://localhost/phpbb3/ucp.php&i=profile&mode=profile_info
When I go into the UCP, I see the link for profiles is

Code: Select all

http://localhost/phpbb3/ucp.php?i=169
.
.

yeah I have getting the 404 error also. something seems to be wrong with the links in the memberlist_view.html

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_ZEBRA --><!-- ELSE --><h2>Edit <a href="{U_PROFILE}&i=profile&mode=profile_info">Profile</a> /
    <a href="{U_PROFILE}&i=profile&mode=avatar">Avatar</a> </h2><!-- ENDIF --></td>

I got it .. !!! There is a small typo in the original code !!!

Theres a "&" that should be a "?"

ok so follow the original and included instructions.
EXCEPT do THIS PART instead of what is in the original instructions:

Open: styles/subsilver2/template/memberlist_view.html

Find

Code: Select all

{L_VIEWING_PROFILE}

Replace with

Code: Select all

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="border-collapse: collapse" width="100%">
  <tr>
    <td width="61%" align="left"><h2>{USERNAME}</h2></td>
    <td width="39%" align="right">
    <!-- IF S_ZEBRA --> <!-- ELSE --><h2>Edit <a href="{U_PROFILE}?i=profile&mode=profile_info">Profile</a> /
    <a href="{U_PROFILE}?i=profile&mode=avatar">Avatar</a> </h2><!-- ENDIF --></td>
  </tr>
</table>

Open: styles/prosilver/template/memberlist_view.html

Find

Code: Select all

<h2>{PAGE_TITLE}</h2>

Replace with

Code: Select all

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="border-collapse: collapse" width="100%">
  <tr>
    <td width="61%" align="left"><h2>{USERNAME}</h2></td>
    <td width="39%" align="right">
    <!-- IF S_ZEBRA --><!-- ELSE --><h2>Edit <a href="{U_PROFILE}?i=profile&mode=profile_info">Profile</a> /
    <a href="{U_PROFILE}?i=profile&mode=avatar">Avatar</a> </h2><!-- ENDIF --></td>
  </tr>
</table>

There NOW it's a GREAT mod !! Worked awesome for me !! I hope I helped somebody. Thanks a bunch.

P.S. The version I used was 1.0.0 Beta so hopefully 1.0.1 or higher will have these typos fixed and this post will no longer be needed as a sumplement to the install.

This mod is indeed outdated. I'm currently very busy with coursework but I'll be updating all my mods during the summer. I'm glad the above patch worked for you superj707 :)

I am having serious problems again.

lets set up some info first.. adddomain.com and primarydomain.com

I was running adddomain.com and having it just forward with no masking to primarydomain.com/site_dir

well that means people go to my site using address adddomain.com and suddently their address bar shows primarydomain.com/site_dir (but this mod worked GREAT)

The weird address loading in the address bar was confusing folks. I tried to use masking so that it would always say adddomain.com in the address bar; but this caused this mod to fail. When I click edit: profile I would be logged out then when I logged back in from there I would get a general error. ugh !!

so I thought I was smart and just "added a domain" IE (adddomain.com) using my host cpanel. so now adddomain.com is the real site and shows all additional dir's in the address bar correctly. example http://www.adddomain.com/site_dir/page1.php

well ... now this mod doesn't work at all AGAIN my members on my live site are being logged out if they try and edit profile ... help please !!

Have you updated/checked your cookie settings in the ACP?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by some of your terminology. Are you using standard Linux-based shared webhosting (with cPanel)?
Sorry for my English, but I am Australian. Forgive me please.
