auction mod ?

Post by R. U. Serious »

I remember at mods.phpbb.com there was somebody who had posted an auction mod. Is the author of that mod still active here? Is he maing it 2.0.0 compatible? If not, does anybody have the mod & can email it to me?

WIth this mod you could choose between different auction types, it had a seperate field next to the text for the amount etc...

Any help greatly appreciated.

I still have a faint hope, that somebody knows who and what I meant, and maybe is even able to help. So, anybody seen that auction mod?

Yes, I began this project while phpBB was still in RC versions. I was nearing completing when the posting mechanism for phpBB changed. Even still, there is a good amount of work left to do on the project. I do hope to get back to it some day. I'll make a post when I have something to release.

EDIT: FYI, the NutPort phpBB portal was born as a by-product of this project :D The NutPort interface was made to be the front page interface of phpBBauction.

Please do not bump this thread again. I have nothing to add to my previous quote.

hello nuttzy,
i followed this thread in from way off where somewhere...

..i think what everyone here seems to be asking is,

what will it take to get it done? ie. if it's money, how much?

i don't know if anybody's thought of doing this yet, but why don't we start a pool. we can start a new thread for it. you name your price/time frame...and anybody interested in it can post as such...with the understanding that after a weeks time or so..the total cost of the project will be divided across all the 'contributors' ..and settled.

the way i figure it, i'm down! 5-10bones a piece should do it.
what yall say about that?

Trust me I would love to work on this project again.... if I had the time. I have plenty of money so that is not something that is going to motivate me. However if you could figure out a way to package up and FedEx me a big bundle of time then that is something I could use :P

On the bright side, Bart (of the phpBB Group) has recently asked me about it, so maybe he'll get me thinking about it again ;) Otherwise periodically poking me on this thread may work some day too :D

Poke!

Actually, saw your project page on sourceforge. I am VERY interested in this feature.

Two things I am especially interested in:

The ability to list items at a fixed rate as well as auction.

A feedback area that could allow any registered user leave a feedback comment for any other registered user...whether they participated in a transaction or not.

I am no php/phpbb guru, but if there is any way I can help, please let me know!
