Search function

Post by Ezz »

Hi everybody, I have a question regarding searh function. When I search for a word the search engine "explains"

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: krema.

I guess this is a limitation on number of post containing the shearched word...
Can it be changed to a higher value?
Is there something to be done about this problem?

Thanx ;)

adminCP > Search Settings > Common word threshold: = xxx%

Or switch to "Fulltext mysql" instead of "Fulltext native"

If you make those changes you will need to use the
adminCP > maintenance > Search Index
then use that to delete and rebuild the index.

Be aware that on a large forum the rebuilding of a search index can take a long time.

Can you make a guess about how much will it take rebuilding the index on this forum?

Rebuild the index search in localhost. It´s more fast and with no errors.
Take a look in this:

I read that topic but unfortunately I have an UMTS connection at home, I don't think I can easily move so many data up and down.

Anyway, if those tables only contain text their size should be easily reduced by compression. I'll make a try.

Thanks,
Max
