  • Revolution has been selected as the Style of the Week on phpBB Weekly episode #093:
    http://www.phpbbweekly.net/2009/01/04/phpbb-weekly-093/
  • This Style requires Prosilver to be installed, and active on your board in order to be working, as it uses the phpBB 3.0.4 Style inheritance feature.

Revolution style

Post by geekasaurus » Fri Dec 05, 2008 2:42 pm

I'm using this style at www.badlol.com and I can't get the 'menu item' at the top of the template to change.
I changed line 98 in overall_header.html and re-uploaded it but there is no change on my live site.

Thanks for any help!

I've modified the header and menu area to fit my board and nicely hold a couple of ads.
Now the issue I'm running accross is I've added some rollover image css code to the page to add a back to my main page link and somehow somewhy some padding simply won't go away.

Code: Select all

.bevelmenu li a {style.ph...5&lang=en (line 3815)
color:#AAAAAA;
padding:9px 10px;
text-decoration:none;
}
The padding there, the whole phrase itself, although firebug can't tell me for sure since the whole theme uses imported stylesheets, comes from the the roelof.css file.
I've deleted the line.
It's still there.
I've tried overriding the command with new padding commands.
It's still there.
I've purge the cache for the BB and refreshed the theme over and over.
It's still there.
It's the code that won't leave.
Please - what's going on?

[EDIT] Finally came up with my own fix. I rewrote the code for the class and renamed the target to a new class id applying my newly written code to the new class.

Worked like a charm - wish I had though of it sooner though.

Revolution Imageset Problem

Post by JakeAyres » Mon Dec 08, 2008 9:18 pm

Hi there,

Ive got a problem with the Revolution style. Half of the imageset doesnt work. Ive tweaked the style a lot to get it to look like how I want it but I havent touched the image set and the problem was there before I made the changed anyway.

Revolution
> Imageset
> > en

The images in the imageset folder work fine. The ones in the en folder dont show up. These include the "Post Reply" images and so on. Fortunately the "Post Reply" image is replaced by a text link so i can post. Things like "edit" and "quote" dont do this so I cant edit or quote any posts.

Im completely stuck for what the problem could be. Ive cleared the cache with no result. I thought it was a little odd that the only folder inside imageset was en but thats just how it installed so i assume this isnt the problem.

If any more info is needed im happy to provide it. All I want is for the imageset to display.

Cheers,

Jake

If you have changed your language to US English, then you need to copy that imageset/en/ folder to /imageset/en_us/

Argh, for some reason the package is corrupt or something is wrong. I seen that a user had a similar problem the other day. Under the template folder, only about 6 files appear and the rest are missing. I tried downloading with both FF and IE and the same results. I also reformatted this morning so it can't be me. -_-
The box said 'You need Windows XP or better' .... so I installed linux.

That is intended.
This style inherits from prosilver, so all of the rest of the template files are in prosilver.

Fantastic style, thanks for releasing it I love it. And especially love the menu bar accross the top.

Im just trying to change the header.gif image, like Tranter (above) has done on his site, and am wondering how best to go about it. I love the existing background to the header, but with the Revolution text overlayed on it, its a little difficult to remove.

Is this layered? Or will I have to pull my own header from scratch ?

Thanks again.

There is a photoshop document of the header in the contrib folder.
You can do anything you like to it ;)
Glad you like it :D
