Pruning Exemptions?

Postby DeathHawk » Tue Sep 09, 2003 10:21 pm

I've read the User Guide and need more information on how pruning works. If someone who knows the code could answer the following questions:

1) Are sticky/announcement topics exempt from auto pruning by default?
2) if not, is there a mod created for it already?

Thanks,
Chris

1) Announcements are exempt; stickies are not
2) No.

Which file and what line would I need to change to exempt stickies as well?

The file is prune.php. The line would contain
Code: Select all
 topic_type != 2

So what do we need to do to keep sticky's? stopping them being pruned?

Add, after that
Code: Select all
AND topic_type != 1
I think. Not tested.

This is what I found:

$prune_all = ($prune_all) ? '' : 'AND t.topic_vote = 0 AND t.topic_type <> ' . POST_ANNOUNCE;
//
// Those without polls and announcements ... unless told otherwise!
//

I also want polls to autoprune, so I need to know what I need to change that too if anyone can help please?

Polls shouldautoprune themselves without changes.

Code: Select all
$prune_all = ($prune_all) ? '' : 'AND t.topic_vote = 0 AND t.topic_type > ' . POST_STICKY;
   //
   // Those without polls and announcements ... unless told otherwise!
   //
There. FYI: I'm not the best guy for coding, but this should work...
