Ok, had a slight technical error, but it is working fine. If you have already downloaded my script, please download the correct (and hopefully working!) version at http://www.plus-media.co.uk/phpbb_wap_mod.zip

Thanks :)

Drowelf : Using a WAP mobile you can login to your forum

And I must say, it works like a charm, after a few mins testing I can't fault this at all. Thanks a lot for the mod!!

Works!

Hey it works good on a plain phpBB forum. Tried it on my phpNUKE phpBB2 forum but that didn´t work. it said something about something wrong in the file. Reload and try again. I´m using Sony Ericsson T610 if that helps

Hi all, Sorry for the delay in my reply

Thanks for the feedback, If you are having some problems, then try looking at the page in either your wap phone or opera, as looking on internet explorer, it doesn't work, as it doesn't understand the text/vnd.wap.wml mime type.

@Abuze (and others): Yes, the mod is only really for the origonal phpbb forum, and I haven't tested it using 'nuke or any other 3rd party software yet, but now you have mentioned it, I will try to get on and fix any problems. I also use a T610, so I don't think that there is any problem there.

@The person who posted on http://www.plus-media.co.uk/forum/wap.php :!: :Thanks for the feedback, that is a function I am currently working on (to split long posts up into sections)

Does anyone else have any ideas for other functions to be implemented? Here is my 'todo' list so far:

Delete Private Messages
Edit Your Posts
View Profiles/Who's online
Edit Your Profile
Sort out 'Topic Watch' so users are emailed when people post from wap
Simple Admin Section
Register

Thanks

Chris

Sorry, what do you mean?

You just need to ftp to your server and you should just upload your files to the mail phpbb directory, e.g. if your forum is at:

http://www.mysite.com/forums/

then you should upload the files there.

Hope this helps
