Version 1.0.8 is OUT! You can see a demo forum and from there you can also download a test version.

Printer-friendly topic mod for versions 2.0.4-2.0.8a of phpBB adds a printer button on the topic view page, which leads to a lightweight view of the topic, which is more suitable for printing.

March 31, 2004: Version 1.0.8 of the mod works with phpBB 2.0.8a and can be automatically installed by Easymod12a

That link points to a most recent version with some cosmetic fixes, which has not been validated. I wonder if I should get the mod validated for every little change in the look?

link are for? It puts a new querypart in the topic-view (msgcount=-10000). I've absolutly no idea what it is for ;o)

I wanted to keep the mod international without modifying a language file. So I had to come up with symbols.
Is the following symbol more clear?

I will change the design of the symbol if there is a better one.

quick question, is the new rendering on the post based on a different stylesheet or a completely different template ? Because if only the stylesheet changes, there is one specific way of including the css file that will have the browser use it automatically whenever the page is printed, which makes it useless to have a completely duplicate page set up.

Not sure what is that you want to say. If you look at printertopic_body.tpl and printer_header.tpl you will see that one provides a template and the other provides style. Is there a conflict with other mods, or what?

Cool, but you still haven't explained what that symbol is for. What is its purpose?

The symbol :|=|: appears to send the user back to page one ... presumably in case one is paging through a topic with a large number of pages ... but I'm not really sure of its actual value to the mod

On the printer-friendly page the symbol O_o appears to be the input button which allows the user to input a range of messages to be displayed on the page.

Some clarification here would be really useful. Perhaps a few words of instructions that Users can then paste into FAQs for their visitors.

It removes pagination by making number of messages per page very large. I made it look like a roll of conputer paper. Maybe this symbol is better:

And the button, I mad it look like tape-recorder so to picture rewind and fast forward. I see the meaning of the button is more obvious...

This item in pagination seems to be the same as clicking on page 1.

May as well remove it then, IMO, unless I've missed something?

The button O_o seems to be a "Go" button since takes the contents of the pages boxes and then displays those pages requested.
