3 column

Post by jbones » Sat Mar 28, 2009 7:59 pm

If anyone is interested, I now have a 3 column available. It is wide at 1060px, but sometimes you just have to say, oh well.

anyway, haven't decided to make it a style for phpbb yet - let me know if you think a 3 column could be of interest.

Oh man, where have I been, sorry.

Answering some questions:

The 3 column is sidebar left : forum center : sidebar right. The sidebars are 145px wide and auto height adjust.

The style is based off of subsilver 2.

Is it possible to remove the side bar? Also my site name doesn't show up.

you can place the title by going into the css file:

where left is 1500px change to what ever it centers to

Code: Select all

.title {
	position: relative;
	color: #bdccee;
	text-align: left;
	font-weight: bold;
	font-size: 1.2em;
	top: 61px;
	left: 1500px;
}
pulling the sidebar out -

delete file sidebar_body.html

then in overall_header.html
where:

Code: Select all

<div id="wrapcentre">
	<!-- IF S_DISPLAY_SEARCH -->
	<p class="searchbar">
		<span style="float: {S_CONTENT_FLOW_BEGIN};">
change to:

Code: Select all

        <!-- IF S_DISPLAY_SEARCH -->
	<p class="searchbar">
		<span style="float: {S_CONTENT_FLOW_BEGIN};">

then in overall_footer.html
where:

Code: Select all

	<!-- IF not S_IS_BOT -->{RUN_CRON_TASK}<!-- ENDIF -->
</div>
<div id="wrapsidebar">
<!-- INCLUDE sidebar_body.html -->
</div>
change to:

Code: Select all

	<!-- IF not S_IS_BOT -->{RUN_CRON_TASK}<!-- ENDIF -->
and that should do it

I sure like this style but it would be better if I could get the title to show. Any hints?

jblue margins

Post by dmchugh70 » Mon Oct 05, 2009 9:42 pm

Love the colors of the jblue forum. I've uploaded it to my site, successfully removed the sidebar, but the forum spreads across the entire width of the page. Is there a way I can add left and right margins to there is some blank space on either side of the forum? The draft of my site is:

you can place the title by going into the css file:

where left is 1500px change to what ever it centers to (try 50px)

Code: Select all

.title {
   position: relative;
   color: #bdccee;
   text-align: left;
   font-weight: bold;
   font-size: 1.2em;
   top: 61px;
   left: 1500px;
}

You can set widths in the css file.

I'm Trying to set a banner across the top. Is there a way that I can increase the site logo size to make this happen or is there a easier way? Here is a link to what I've done so far http://budjetpc.com/guestbook1/index.php

Well spaceghost, glad you got it straightened out.

You actually expected a response by the end of the workday on the 13th? Sorry, the glue that binds me to my computer and this thread must of worn down a bit :roll: .
