After making the file edits this mod has you make, navigate your browser to http://[your_address]/install_boardwatch.php to complete the installation.
However, setting the permissions did help. Thanks.
Glad it's working for you. The DIY instructions say to run the install script (which you did) and the install script says in big letters at the end that you have to set permissions for access to the boarwatch settings ;) (that instruction used to be in the DIY section but was moved it into the install script when I added umil support.)

When I ran the install Script, I never saw anything saying to update the permissions...

Does anyone know if a poster will be notified of his own posts if he is subscribed?

No, the mod follows the regular phpbb3 convention that the poster does not get notified of his or hew own posts. That would be easy to change, of course.

Ha...I'm done making changes. For now. Thanks, as I was unaware of the convention.

I have a slight problem.

I use the moderator Move topics function to place topics in multiple forums, leaving shadows in place.

The problem I have is, the only email notification that is sent, is sent for the orginal post. If I then move the topic to a 2nd or 3rd forum, those forums do not send out an email, so the people subscribed to the 2nd and 3rd forums do not know there is a new topic or post!!!!

This is a huge issue for my forum :o :o

Can this be altered to include moved/shadow topics??

Please!

Thanks

Please, is it possible for these shadow moved topics to trigger forum email notifications?

I'm rolling my forum out next week, and I must fix this!

Thanks

That has nothing to with this mod...what you are really asking about is whether normal phpbb3 forumwatch can be changed so that it will send an email notification when a topic is moved to a forum. If someone writes a mod to do that it will work for this mod as well.

I don't need that feature for my forums so I won't be coding that. So, your choices are to write a mod like that yourself (it wouldn't be hard if you know a bit about php coding) or get someone to write it for you. You could try to make a mod request in the mod request part of this forum.

What is (SENT EMAIL) mailbox?

Maybe your emails are queing? Did you try setting to 0 the email package size that appears in the email settings part of the acp?

Sorry, that didn't help. I stil lhave no idea what you are talking about. What does it mean to say the emails arrive somewhere when you say people don't get them?

The emails are sent by mailing at jrocha dot net account and none arrives into the users mailbox.

I've done the install procedure twice and double checked but and im starting to thinking that probably another board configuration issue...

thanks,

The screenshot you posted says it is getting mailed via the php mail function and NOT through jrocha dot net account.

Do regular phpbb topic reply emails get sent out correctly? How about a private email you send to a user via the board, or notification emails for new pms? Just trying to figure out if your mail function is working properly (it's possible that you've got problems with how your mail is set up that have nothing to do with this mod).

Hello!

I am from germany and for the last 3-4 days I am dealing with phpbb3-Forum Software.

After installing the MOD (following the Tutorials and Descriptions) my forum is stil working. The admin and the users both can decide the mentioned boardwatch checkboxes and parameters - so far everything is fine.

But when I activate the boardwatchf option (the whole board) and add a reply, I receive an Error Message:

SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

FUNCTION db294537882.0AND does not exist [1305]

I followed everything. One thing is the MOD only comes with language pack for english (EN). So I copied the files for the EN language pack also into the folder for the german version, which I am running.

It would be great, if anyone can tell me where the error is and how I can solve it.

Thanks,

Dirk from Germany
