Translation into KOREAN

Post by fatprofit »

Hi,

I've checked the language page and Korean is not listed on it. I would like to translate into Korean and have tried to submit my application using the application form on this site. However I receive this message:
"Please, check the languages page to ensure that the language you would like to translate phpBB to isn't being worked on already, before submitting your application. If there is, please contact the language pack maintainer to see if it would be possible to co-operate on the translation since we do not allow duplicate entries on our downloads page.

You are trying to become the maintainer of a language which is already being maintained. Please read the paragraph above regarding duplicate entries, which has now been highlighted for your convenience. "
I'm sure that Korean is NOT listed on the language page.
If it is being worked on already by someone, can someone (Moderator) please advise me of who it is, so I can contact them, otherwise can someone advise me how I can become a translator or how I can translate the language pack myself.

Thanks.

The person to contact would be Vic D'Elfant.

Hi Thanks. How do I contact Vic D'Elfant, if I can not PM him?

Also the topic "List of current translators/how to become one" created by the moderators, is locked so I can not post there. Can't submit application on site, and can't PM moderators. How can I then contact someone to help?

Hi, thanks for your reply. He has posted this message:

Please note that now we have a designated application submission form in place, you should no longer be sending PMs to me directly in order to become the maintainer of a given language pack; such PMs will go unanswered.

You can find this message in the topic "List of current translators/how to become one"
Should I try anyway?

The normal procedure is to contact the maintainer and see if they are still working on the translation, but if you don't know who the maintainer is, that is impossible. So, yeah, contact Vic to see what is happening.
Have you hugged someone today?

Who is the maintainer for Korean Language pack

Post by fatprofit »

Hi I would appreciate if someone could tell me, who is the maintainer/translator of the Korean Language Pack. Korean is not listed on the language page on this site (so the maintainer is not listed). At first I naturally thought no one has translated into Korean. I tried submitting my application form to become a translator for Korean, it says that Korean is already being maintained. This is the message I receive:
"Please, check the languages page to ensure that the language you would like to translate phpBB to isn't being worked on already, before submitting your application. If there is, please contact the language pack maintainer to see if it would be possible to co-operate on the translation since we do not allow duplicate entries on our downloads page.

If someone knows who the maintainer is or if you know how I can download the Korean Language pack please PM me or reply to this message. I've tried contacting the moderator responsible for translation being Vic D'Elfant, but I've had no response. HELP is appreciated. :D

The original maintainer is homa28 - given his recent activity and not yet having uploaded a language pack we may indeed switch maintainer.

Hi Acyd Burn, THANK YOU for replying :D

I've contacted the maintainer, and will see if I can help with the translation.... hopefully he/she will reply. If not, yes I would be interested in translating, if I can be advised of the exact text that needs translating.

Yay!

If this ever becomes available I would be interested in getting a copy too... I'm surprised there are no packs already.
