Brazilian Portuguese language

Post by Mr.Damm »

Hello.

I've downloaded the latest Brazilian Portuguese language pack today (May, 02) and unzipped it into the language folder and tried to install the board. No luck (the installation page was blank).
Searching in the error.log of the server has shown me the following:

[Sat May 02 16:45:30 2009] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] PHP Parse error: parse error, expecting `')'' in D:\\mypath\\phpbb3\\language\\pt_br\\acp\\common.php on line 685

Is this an error in the language pack or did I something wrong?

The fact is: after I removed the language pack from the language folder I was able to install the board.

Any clues for me?

Can you please attach the file noted in that error message to this topic?

I had the same problem, you can see it on the screenshot
but if you see the note about the language pack on the top of the related box is:

"Note: The package above has not yet been updated for the latest release. "

i think that will not work very well... :)

There is a problem with that language file, if you attach the file we can have a look and provide a patch or you'll have to wait till the maintainer updates his package.

Thats the normal common.php we need the one located in: "language/pt_br/acp/common.php".

Yeah I recall I've seen this file before. The whole file is corrupted and therefore causing this problem. I don't know who the maintainer of that package is but he should upload a new package with a correct acp/common.php file.

Oh, that confusion was mine..
Sorry. But it's it, the correct file is from /acp directory. As i have noted, that file is corrupted. The owner of the package has to upload another file, corrected.
