"Front end" only translation - what files can I ignore?

Post by Laurentio »

So I've been translating for 11 days, and have only completed common.php, ucp.php, and some of the FAQ!

For the moment I only want to translate what the 'normal' user sees - not text strings for administrators only - and text for moderators only have very low priority. (I would like to have the board online before Christmas!)

I know that I can omit the files in the 'mods' and 'acp' folders. install.php ssems to relate only to istallation of the board, so that too should be safe to omit from translation, right?

And how about mcp.php? - that seems to contain a lot of administrator/moderator related stuff! But I'm worried it may contain some text for normal users also?

Also any other advice you could give me on what (strings in what files) to prioritize would be appreciated.

Btw, thanks to ameeck for the reply in the other thread.

OK, guess that was too long, so I'll rephrase: Are there any parts of the file mcp.php that will be seen by users who aren't administrators or moderators?

No, all the strings defined in the mcp.php will be used in that file, and that file is only visible to moderators.

Oooh  mcp must stand for 'moderator control panel'!!! :D
