Just to be clear we'll provide limited support on this package here. Issues like this we'll support but if you for example nuke your live board because you used the toolkit we won't support you as the package isn't mend for that ;).

Can you please check whether the phpBB version check works. ACP > SYSTEM.
Does that module trigger any errors?

I'm using phpBB 3.0.5.
No errors but I just can't go to /stk.

Have you entered the SYSTEM tab in your Admin Control Panel? (This page should display your installed version and the latest version).
I think there is something in the version check but in that case your phpBB version check in the SYSTEM tab should break as well.

Yes I have entered the SYSTEM tab, and I get the green message "Your forum is up-to-date".
Nothing wrong with that tab, everything is OK.

I have changed nothing, just put the folder in my root and it says

Code: Select all

Algemene fout
Connection refused [ 111 ]
:(

There is something strange with your servers setup. It doesn't allow us to fetch the version check file from the server its on right now, but it does allow it from this site. I'm going to move these files over to phpbb.com for the next release just to be rid of these problems.
Are you trying this package on your localhost because than you might want to check your setup.

I have been trying this on me testforum which is online.
And I have tryed it on another website test forum....

But I think I'm not the only one with this problem.
Maybe there's something wrong in the package?

The package is correct, as it uses the same version check method as phpBB itself does ;). However the problem is caused that we host our compare files on a different location and your host blocks the script from reaching these files. I'll be moving our version files to the same location as phpBB's to work around this limitation.
For now you can work your way around this by removing

Code: Select all

stk_version_check();
from stk/index.php.

Please note: this version check will disable the STK if you are running an outdated version, removing this line will disable this security precaution. Only apply this change if you know what you are doing and how to get informed on new releases without it!

Thanks, removing that check worked.
I'll just wait for the new version.

Wow can we run SQL queries with it too? :D

"Download Latest Unstable Release" , now THAT, was VERY funny. And you all thought the phpbb team has no sense of humor?

I think this gave my server an overload. Either that or it's because of the downtime my host has been having with a new server. The tool is very useful nonetheless. :D
