Theres no way in making facebook a bot since facebook is.. well, not a bot. you'd have to allow guests to view that spesific forum.

Replace YOUR_TWITTER_ID with your Twitter ID.

What you mean the boards Twitter ID IF they had one? Otherwise its going to be the same for everyones when they try sharing the link...? Or they have to edit it themselves each time... have I missed something here?

Surely Facebook uses some sort of bot to retrieve the information quickly when you post a link? Or does it have an IP I can take to make phpbb think its a bot anyway? lol

Also, for Twitter, the following request justs comes back as a link (YOUR_TWITTER_ID) when tweet'ed;

replace "YOUR_TWITTER_ID" for your forum twitter id, or remove the "(from @YOUR_TWITTER_ID)" from the line if your board doesn't have a twitter id

There no way around the Facebook detail grabbing? As it looks so pretty before Facebook strips it Has the topic title etc... but then its stripped down to just the domain URL Tried adding the Facebook DNS IP as a bot at a guess it might work... it didnt!

Everything works except that on twitter it show you all the detail such as the topic name and a link to that topic.

But on facebook it doesn't show you the topic title or the correct link to your webpage. it just shows the "www.yoursitename.com" (but it does take you to the topic)

For me, the facebook part doesn't give the topic name either, but instead "information" and it does take me to the topic.. even tho it's the last post and not the first one.

At least we get an option to make a comment before submiting to able to give a better detial of the link.

I think i know what are you telling me, i didn't have that problem so far.. But testing with some topics it hapen :S I really don't have an answer right now but as soon as i figure it out i let you know
