formerly known as lastRSS agregator & lastRSS autoposting bot .MODs, which were (or will be) merged and reworked
lastRSS parser class is not used anymore
If you need to uninstall lastRSS autoposting bot, you can check the original MODX file there



MOD Description: Creates RSS & ATOM feeds input to your board - posts content into forums, shows news as ticking news block ...

Version 0.4.0 update info
If you are using previous version (lower than 0.4.0), remove .MOD from ACP at first, than delete existing files.

Rework of ACP will come soonly, at this moment, when you are setting up the feed, you have to save it without templating and without posting enabled, save, open again and than you´ll have available feed attributes for templating

Further informations :

• If you are using lastRSS agregator modification, please stay and do not uninstall it, agregator & newsticker functions wasn´t implemented yet

General configuration of this mod
index init - if enabled, than index.php will update latest data of the feed ...
index posting - if enabled, while index.php is inited, it will make a post in specified forum ...
cron init - if enabled, no actions wil be performed on index - so enable this only if you'll set up a cron job on your server, initing update_feeds.php
cron posting - if enabled, feed items will be posted into specified forum, if update_feeds.php is inited ...
download function - must be set, to function, which is available on your server, possible values are "simplexml", "curl" and "fopen" ... This mod doesn't work without simplexml library, which is part of PHP5, but simplexml_load_xml might be unavailable, therefore use curl or fopen value.

Recommended settings :
If not using cron job on your server
index init - enabled
index posting - enabled
cron init - disabled
cron posting - disabled
download function - simplexml

Known bugs :

• (all versions) read/unread status of forum & posts are not visible as latest in the forum (to check)
• topics containing an ampersand "&" are not valid and are not correctly parsed
• Feeds using namespaces are not correctly parsed

Is there any read mes or anything for setting this up to post feeds? I am kind of lost on what all the setting are for and or do and what is need to make my user create some posts.

Looks great and cant wait for the ticker to be installed on this.

Hello,
if you'll set index init to enabled, than index.php will update latest data of the feed ... If you'll also turn index posting to enabled than it will make a post in specified forum ... Making topic replies is not working yet.
If you'll enable cron init - no actions wil be performed on index - so enable this only if you'll set up a cron job on your server, initing update_feeds.php
... If cron posting is enabled, feed items will be posted into specified forum ...

I applied the edits and ran the install.php and I got this at the top of my board

The find in language/en/acp/common.php is slightly different in mine, all appears to be working so I assume it's the same file.

About the file location, no, it´s correct, copy to contrib/install.php and run the script ...

... why are you waiting? ... check your settings, after submitting the form, the feed will be checked, parsed and maybe posted ... It depends on the settings you´ve got in the "General Configuration" part of this mod ACP. Defaultly it´s everything disabled

I added the feed, and have Index Init and Index Posting enabled, I identified a Forum, User and Topic and haven't seen a post yet
