Our "Translations" forum is dedicated to translating all the phpBB built in messages into other languages, which is not what you are asking about.

I'm not sure how you could iplement what you ask, that may reuire some MOD (modification to phpBB).

It is much easier to install Google Toolbar in your webbrowser. Then all you have to do is click the Translate button and it will translate the entire page to whatever language you choose
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

for direct typing in Indian languages :

the simple method is to use Pramukh library like below image

an expert can add the tool directly to quick reply , post reply , new topic , and PM :)

Instead of just installing a Toolbar into your browser as suggested, which only works on your computer, not everyone else who visits your site, there are various Widgets you can get from Google & Yahoo which you can embed into your website. I have used this in 2 of my websites, all you need to do, is make a post & Preview it, in the widget change the language to what you want, then copy & paste, & hit submit, the language is done.

^ above referred tool is directly embedded in to the forum for all the users :) no need of copy
paste work. btw, I am also working with direct Google transliteration - but I have time constraints
