Used autopatching, and everything went good.
So far only ubnormal fact i noticed was the ubnormal link after verification to "Admin control panel" which leads back to forum index than to the control panel itself :?

Yes, that's a known issue when using 3.0.7 with a custom style that isn't up-to-date.

whenever you place the install directory into your forums area in FTP it locks the threads and any activity solid the whole while it is there

ok - a matter of ten minutes later - you delete it having updated and 3.0.7 and all your members breath a sigh of relief and carry on

but why can't the members just carry on posting? 8-) why does it have to be locked during this time?

:D just curious

A changed file-system may not interact properly with changes to the DB, or vice-versa. If they post when the update occurs, a post may be corrupted or not updated properly.

Better to let them wait, and warn them of the downtime beforehand. ;)

thanks des 8-) very interesting, cheers

I used auto-updater FTP method and a red thing came up at the bottom

it said language/en/search_synonyms.php modified code block not used

or something like that

easiest upgrade I have ever seen but I don't know what the language/en/search_synonyms.php bit was

for the first time ever, I have done an upgrade with no apparent loss of function to my forums whatever

I'm stunned :D

Click here and click the "Code Changes" tab. ;)
Unfortunately, there are only code changes from 3.0.6 to 3.0.7 and not from earlier versions. But oh well. :P

Those changes are only for style and language files.

From the changelog:
Forum feed no longer includes posts of subforums.
Is there a good reason for this change? Just assume you wanted to get all postings about phpBB 3.0.x via a feed of that category. In 3.0.6, you had to subscribe to one feed, now you have to subscribe to many, many feeds and monitor changes in this category (look for new forums to subscribe to in the category). This is a hard step backwards :(

As 3.0.7-pl1 has been released, it's advisable for all users to upgrade to that now :)
